Banning someone from playing any games linked to his EA Account for making the post "Selling your soul to the EA Devil?" is overkill. Banning him from posting in the forums? Sure. From playing the games he purchased? Ridiculous. Especially since Bioware games are single player, but they require you to go through EA's servers to play.

Things like shops being closed at night. Conversations of the folks around you that drift in and out as you walk past them. The banter between party members is always amusing, too. I tend to keep Isabel in my party just to hear what she's got to say next. "I like big boats and I cannot lie." "Going for the eyes, booya!" "If we kill them, we can take their stuff!"

though i generally dislike Elves in any game or movie, i can't help but keep Merril in my party for the awesome lines she has. she's my favorite voiced character in the game

Yes yes this random internet troll has been deeply wronged by the faceless corporate fascist EA and has been denied his video game! The violation of civil liberties! The irrevocable trauma! Nerds revolt!
Kidding aside - I wasn't defending EA. I was just saying that every misuse of authority doesn't need to be compared to Nazism.

I agree. The nazi thing is a little much, but the matter in general is not encouraging.

Beat it!
And holy fata, Game Of The Year 2011!
I don't even think I could spoil it for anyone. It seemed so open ended that it could have gone ANY which way!

As a highly educated doctor, I am far too busy saving lives in my emergency room to play video games. I have a nurse that is currently playing this game on my behalf, and she informed me this morning that I am to tell people that I quite like it.

It was sarcasm (white text ), I don't care if someone plays video games all day. Just making a joke, I beat Dragon Age Origins in about a Sunday, woke up at 2pm, went to bed at 4:30am, all I did for that 14+ hours was sit in the basement and played Origins.
I also beat GTA IV in 3 days after it came out.
I still remember when Halo 3 was released. I beat it on Legendary the 2nd night it came out with a friend. When I told my other friends in my English class my teacher came to me and said "if you spoil the ending, I swear I will fail you". We laughed, but he was dead serious, haha. I couldn't talk about the game for a week later when he beat it.

Absolutely loving this game so far.
I hate the fact you can't put armor on your companions, and the surprise magic waves of reinforcements in battles annoys the hell out of me. I get it if Shades are materializing out of nowhere, but when 7ft tall 300lb smelly Qunaris are dropping from the sky unannounced I think it takes something away.
Overall though I'm enjoying it just as much as DA:O which is saying a lot.

So, beat this game and really enjoyed it. I found that I quite liked the final Act, as well, and the final questline is something else, too.
I guess my biggest irk with the game is the combat 'lock'. In the first round, I was playing a two hander style warrior. I would tell my toon to attack an enemy. She'd run up and smack the guy, knocking him way back but not killing them...then just stand there. I would have to click the guy again for her to run up and smack him again.
I found that the lack of a PC autoawareness to be irritating, too. My toon would be standing in the middle of a pack of enemies, the one she was attacking would die...and she'd just stand there while the rest of them beat on her, instead of starting basic attacks on the nearest one.
Overall though, I really enjoyed this game.

i think i'm almost done the game and it's been a blast so far. one of the most brutal quests though is definitely what happens with your mother. i'm not one to let games affect me emotionally, but that one actually disturbed me just a little bit. bravo to the Bioware writing staff for managing that

Please use spoiler tags liberally. I know nobody's laid out specifics but now I know something going to happen to Hawke's mother that is really disturbing and and could make me ruthless and vindictive.

Go into your abilities subscreen (Where you choose your talents/abilities), and in the bottom right hand corner you'll see a small image that looks like a dog's head. Drag that to your quickbar, and you can use it to summon him.
He can be summoned instantly, even mid-combat, without interrupting your fighting, has a 30s CD from when he disappears (is "killed" or when you change an area) until he can be resummoned, and is pretty useful all around. Enjoy!

I have an idea...
I've created a new thread where those of us that have beaten DA2 can go and discuss it, and minimize the risk of spoilers for those that haven't.

You can respec any character in the game (even your own) with a "Maker's Sigh" potion from the Black Emporium. All attribute and ability assignments completely wiped clean.
Don't like a particular tank? Take one of your other warriors and rebuild them from scratch into a tank!
