Good results for you, but I do pity you for having to sit through those two games

Interesting game from a Packer perspective.

I fully expected they would have a big game offensively simply because of the way they came into it from the pre-season. My worries were, and still mainly are, on the defensive side of things...yet tonights game was won by the D while the O looked pedestrian at best.

I knew they were gonna throw on that 3rd and 1 as they had been setting it up all 2nd half, but I didnt expect the Bears to leave Vasher alone with Jennings all the way down the field...whoops!

And that illegal contact call that allowed that bear drive to continue for the go ahead FG was a freaking joke....I mean seriously, it was within 5 yards and all he did was touch the guyon the shoulder...just a bizarro call.

Anyhoo...Bengals and the Lions are the next 2 games...would sure be nice to start the year 3-0.

So, tomorrow is two of the AFL 50th Anniversary games, I must say I am looking forward to the jerseys. All four teams will wear retro uniforms, plus the refs will have the old school orange and white uniforms from back in the day. Awesomness on all kinds of awesome levels.

Yep, getting a helmet in the ribs after a play is over is totally his fault. Where do you get this stuff?

Confession: Didn't actually watch either game!

Where were Greg Olsen and Desmond Clark tonight?

As much as I hate the Raiders.....and oh how I hate the Raiders....their uniforms for these anniversary games are nothing short of awesome.

Bears have the Steelers at home next week. Pittsburgh has had 3 extra days off to boot. Having that Bears first may prove to be pretty valuable for the Broncos.

BTW that was some finish. I was watching that game and when that ball bounced up to Stokely all I could think was, why can't I cheer for a sports team who gets a lucky break like that just once. At least one thats not in the CFL.

I watched a whole 2 minutes of that game and happened to tune in just as Orton threw that ball. I laughed and thought of Jay Cutler, complete with his best Peyton Manning face losing to the Packers.

You think he plays next week? If I'm Reid I don't risk it. Let him sit the next game and maybe even the one after....then you've got the bye.

The team is too good and he means too much for them to risk further injury, even if it's at the expense of a win. A 2-1 record going into the bye would be fine by me, and you'd surely have a fully recovered McNabb at that point.

Yeah, it sounds like they might let him sit. They're not worried about further injury, but they're worried that he won't be able to pass the ball accurately because of the discomfort.

it never gets old watching the big baby Cutler lose, he is a suck and the pressure will only build as the bears lose to the Steelers next week..... It looked like the worst of Favre out there with him, just throw it up and hope for the best...

Some Monday morning notes...

Bad news for the Bears as they lose two starting LB's including Urlacher.

Quote:
Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher is expected to undergo surgery early Monday morning after dislocating his right wrist in Sunday's 21-15 loss to the Packers.

Strong-side linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa suffered a sprained posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and did not return. It is unknown how long he will be out.
Wisenhut on the Cards...

Quote:
The 49ers committed four penalties for 31 yards. The Cardinals committed 12 for 82.

"Guys who are going to have penalties are not going to play," coach Ken Whisenhunt said.

Though I must admit the last couple of years I have never worried about their offense. It's the defense that left me without confidence. I got the same feeling with this game. They can score points but is the defense better?

For me, what it comes down to for the Cowboys, is can Romo be the same quarterback in December and January that he is in September. So far, it's been a resounding NO every single season.

He can play better in the crunch but the defense keeps putting him in a position where he has to come up with heroics all the time. They are till they prove otherwise the weak link to me.

Thank you pro line for allowing me to choose a Tie with Ind and Jax, that along with Denver and a few locks has secured enough winnings to fund the other 16 weeks of betting.

Haha - Cutler - wha wha wha.

The only game I got to watch in its entirety was the Baltimore / Kansas City game. Nothing much has changed for the Chiefs. The D-line still sucks and the O-line still sucks. They did play their hearts out though, they just don't have the talent. Croyle played very well. He didn't turn the ball over and he had a completion percentage of 66.3. Pretty good considering he had no protection.

Baltimore looks to be a bit overrated at this point. I know one thing, if they are going to get a bunch of holding penalties against the Kansas City Chiefs, how are they going to fair against the Pittsburgh Steelers?
