Im really not worried about Rodgers durability. He played all 16 last year and at a very high level at that. Im more concerned with the run blocking moreso than the pass protection as the Pack need a decent running game to open up the skill guys outside...a group who may very well be top 3 in the league.

Again, Mike Vick has a very high winning percentage and that cannot be debated. Sometimes the stats are overrated at the QB position...just ask Big Ben. Not comparing the 2 as Ben obviously has won the big games where Vick has not, but the dynamic offensive ability of Mike Vick cannot be denied.
I don't see how you could argue he's not an upgrade on Kolb.

Reid has already said that Kolb's spot is not in jeopardy.
I think he's greatly overrated, obvioulsy. His dynamic offensive ability comes to light when he abandons the offense and goes for a run.

He does?
I can't remember the stats but I didn't think his winning percentage was much higher than 50%.
In the seasons that Vick started the majority of the Falcons games they missed the play-offs as often as they made them.
He doesn't exactly seem like a big time winner and certainly nowhere close to a guy that "just win games" like Big Ben.

I heard yesterday he is 39-26 as a starter regular season and 2-2 in the playoffs.
There is no denying his talent, but i am not sure you could win it all with him as a QB. Though he is a 3 time pro-bowler, so certainly his peers and those in the game think he is a great player if not a horrible person.

This is not going to work.

I tried to pay extra attention to Orton and the offense in general last night as I went to the game. Obviously there's not much I can add to Orton's performance. 3 picks on three very different throws. The last one was totally inexcusable - he completely underthrew that ball.
It's a preseason game and the first one at that... but yikes. Orton is just going to have to be a game manager in order for the Broncos to be successful... and I'm pretty sure he's not capable of that.

Gotta search the internet a bit, Moreno was shown hobbling and walking back to the training room.

Adam Schefter tweeted that the Broncos staff called it a strain, which is pre-season lingo for tear. Just not sure how bad, MRI this weekend.
That was probably partial truth, partial exaggeration on his part, IMO. I'd hate to see him gone for too long.

I am very excited for the Vikings defense....seeing EJ Henderson back in the middle brings a smile to my face!
Ian Johnson should make the team as the 3rd running back.
And I'm still of the opinion that Jackson just doesn't get it, and Sage will start the season. I think he should be similar to Kerry Collins in that he can just manage the game and let Adrian and Chester do their thing.

Well, the one good thing is the offensive line is really, really good. Hopefully that prevents the season from being total and complete disaster.
I think Simms has a chance to steal the job from Orton.
I am interested to see Brandstater as well.
Forgot to mention earlier, Alphonso Smith had some very nice returns and Eddie Royal looked outstanding.

Fair enough, I forgot Rodgers started all 16 games last year. It will definitely be a long year if they cant establish a running game. I think the NFC north will be a competitive division this year. Detroit could sneak up on people this year like the falcons did last year. You can quote me on saying that they wont be as bad as they were last year. Right now I just don't see a run away favorite for the division, each team has a blemish or two (or 16) to hide.

Great news.
As for the comments about knee-jerk reactions on Orton, I kind of agree.....but.....McDaniels doesn't have much wiggle room here. This is HIS guy...a guy he was willing to trade a pro bowler for. The heat will come hard and fast if this doesn't work out. He won't have 14 years like Shanahan did.

Nice start for GB against the Browns.
Rodgers goes deep to Driver for 53 yds and Ryan grant has run one in. 14-0 Packers in the 1st Q.
Rodgers is 5/10 102 yds and a TD in 2 series.
More encouraging to me is they have run 8 times for 39 yds and a TD.

Shaun Ellis of the NY Jets has been suspended without pay for the first regular season game and fined an additional $100,000 for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.
Edit: Suspended for banned supplement, not substance abuse.

Absolutely. A good offensive line and good run game (I like Moreno) will do wonders for whoever is behind center.

I think a very good chance. I always liked Simms and I really don't buy into Orton at all. Not a knee jerk reaction at all... I think he's garbage.

Phil Simms was a late bloomer. Maybe Chris will follow a similar path.

Million dollar talent, nothing between the ears.
Could've been so good had he chosen another path.
If he dedicates himself he could surprise.
