funnest thing to do in this game: hold RB (or pokecheck) and adjust your skillstick so that you hold your stick with one hand almost parallel to your body so that you end up standing looking lifeless. You can then point your left stick to skate, and your guy eventually gains enough speed and blows by everyone without moving any part of his body.

Same with if you close to the net, I will pass to my guy for a one timer, and he just pauses for 3-4 seconds, even if I choose him I can't move for at least 3 seconds. I don't know how this wasn't patched or found out, but I hope they change it.

Yeah that worked well, except for the fact that the worst team in the league at the time decided to pick me up off of waivers.
Now I'm a dirty stinking canuck.

I can't wait for the game, but it is getting annoying how they tell me how many awards they won last year, over and over and over and over again.

There was a twitter post that a dynasty video was in the works. I'm excited for that. The BAP was much cooler than I anticipated and the EASHL is a wicked start, but my heart will always be with the dynasty mode.

I'm sick and tired of receiving messages from idiots when playing NHL 09. I have received one message that said good game (from a guy named tit-juice, no less), every other one says something like "f you, you one-timing ***".
And then there's the people that message you with comments during the game, like I care. "wow ugly goal" "so lucky". Shut up for god sakes, it's not my fault that you can't play defense.

Maybe you should stop with all the one-timers and lucky goals

I used to bitch about people doing one-timers, but honestly, I have played on so many crappy teams that DON'T know how to do them, I really give the people who can do them (like me) credit.
It isn't that hard to score a goal on a 2 on 1, and one timing it in, but I always have goes who will cut back and wait for their teammates (wasted opportunity), or they will wait til the last minute, then go behind the net and pass (hits the net). The other scenario is if I have the puck, I will skate up and then give them the pass, but they are on the near side (the side I am on, so it has no chance), or they are in front of the goalie, or they cut back and wait for teammates.

It's so easy to score on 2 on 1s, but some people don't understand how to do it. My friend stays on the same side as me when I try to pass to him and then skates past the net if I don't pass to him when he wants it. Thats why I like playing D more, so I can stop the other team from getting 2 on 1 goals, and so I don't get a gazillion turnovers.

It's almost as if 2 on 1's produce a lot of goals in real freaking life. Man playing online can be exhausting when you deal with idiots that can't play and just complain all the time.

I actually heard the Flames PP was so bad near the end of the season because the other teams called the Flames cheap for using so many one timers and Iginla took it to heart and would only score in fair and cool ways from then on.

The 2009-2010 Calgary Flames are going to be better than any fantasy team you can put together.

Hmm apparently another playtest review of the game was taken down over on hfboards.
Also from their nhl10 string there was some comment about otp/versus in the demo as well.
