Burress is pitching today? Let's just hope they saved some runs from yesterday for today's game.

As a pretty hardcore fan I'm embarrassed to ask this, but who the hell is Burress?

Brian Burres.
Was 7-10 with a 6.04 ERA with Baltimore last year.

Just 2-3 pitchers a game...nothing unnecessary. And they're first in the majors. Looking really nice.

Well they are second in the majors with 29 HR and lead the league in both doubles (46) and SLG (.511). So I think they are doing with both power and timely hitting. I am surprised though that they don't have more steals (though the three last night helped). But I guess if you keep getting guys on base and in scoring position then you really don't need to steal.

This Burres guy can't be the best option we've got. Bring up the young kids one by one and give them a taste, one should be able to stick. A rainout tonight could be huge for the jays, give the thin rotation a bit of a break. On a positive note, Burnett got absolutely rocked by the Sox today.

How bad is the rain? (If anybody's actually watching the game) No means of watching it here.

One rough inning and the jays are down 6 runs. With the way the Jays are hitting I wouldn't be surprised to see a comeback.

Downs gets another save, Halladay gets his first win in Chicago, and the Jays have won their sixth straight series to kick off the season.

I'm glad we tossed in a poop-baller against a talented team like the Rangers, bring the kids up against a weaker offensive club.

I figured this is where the season would go back to normal as they start playing tougher teams and playing Eastern rivals but man Cito sure seems to have the bats just rolling along. Wonder how long before their lack of pitching catches up to them?

I think I underestimate the impact Doc has on the rest of the pitching staff. AJ said it, the young players say it, and it looks like the entire staff follows his lead.

Can't throw strikes....can't throw in the bigs.
Purcey is running out of chances, I hope.

It's the big leagues--give him 200 more innings and than we can see...its not like we have a whole lot coming down the pipeline

Casey Jannsen can't get back here fast enough. I hope Romero is good to go as soon as his stint on the DL is up. He's set to be back for May 5th.
