How bad was Saskatoon or how bad is Lethbridge this series?

I think a lot of it is Calgary wanting revenge for last year. This Hitmen team simply is not going to be stopped by the Hurricanes.
The other series is merely a formality at this point, as Brandon is up 3-0 following a 6-1 win. That should be a fun semifinal. We'll see what their offence can do against our defence.

I think it is more about how bad Lethbridge is this series.
Look at the Blades series the Canes losses were all "big" losses. If you can get ahead of the Canes they will quit. Calgary has done a good job of doing that this series and that has made a few game look like bigger wins than they likely "should" have been. Game 2 it was a close game and you see the Canes were in it all game long. The Hitmen weren't able to get up by a couple of goals so the Canes didn't quit in that game.
Also the Blades lost at least two of the games because of Boychuk (and King to an extent) not so much because of their poor play or the Canes great play.

I think the Canes went with a terrible strategy to start this series. They wanted to be physical, which was good, but they were playing over the line for much of the first two games, and the Hitmen simply did not respond. Once the Hitmen were up 2-0, they smelled blood and just wanted to finish it off.
The Canes had their moments though. Game two was quite the battle, and could have gone Lethbridge's way. The Canes didn't quit last night, and played a great third.
Going down 2-0 in the first two minutes was devastating. I'd congratulate the Canes on a good season, but it would seem a hollow gesture given how far below expectations they fell.
At least Sbisa and Boychuk know their seasons will continue. Sbisa will be going to the Flyers, imo. Wonder if Boychuk goes to Carolina, or if he goes to the AHL instead?

Excellent job by the Hitmen, nice to see Sonne come out flying in his first game back.

Wheat Kings, then. Probably the end of our sweeps, although the Hitmen should still take the series. Jung was brilliant and Metsola was very good - I don't think Hayes is at their level. (And if by some crazy chance it's Medicine Hat we play, I'd bet on another sweep.)

The Wheat Kings are going to be a fun opponent. I don't see Medicine Hat winning tomorrow, so I expect they will be coming in on an 8-0 run, even as we are. Like us, they had two fairly easy opponents to start the playoffs. I like their offence, but I like our defence more, and Calgary has the goaltending edge on paper. This series will be an excellent test for whoever represents the East in the finals.

Brandon pretty close to sweeping the Hat. 6-2 in the 3rd period for Brandon. Hitmen vs. Wheat Kings in the Eastern Conference final. Both teams undefeated in the playoffs so far.

The Wheaties will be a good test for the Hitmen as they have lots of weapons. However, the Hitmen are much better in goal and on the blue line.

When does the Hitmen/Wheat Kings series start?
And will it be a 2-3-2 type series?

Not announced yet, but given at least one of the West series is likely to go 7, I am betting not until next weekend, at least. I would be very surprised if it wasn't a 2-3-2 format, but I expect that the Flames schedule will impact that more than travel does.
Speaking of the West series, Vancouver is just taking it to Spokane in the overtime. Tokarski is coming up HUGE so far.

The 2nd OT just finished in Vancouver. Spokane had some real good chances more than the Giants in that period. Great game so far.
