Congrats to McNabb and the Eagles, sorry for the Giants' performance. Eli looked almost horrific.

Well the Chargers stayed close for 30 minutes...but have completely imploded in the 3rd quarter and look to be blown out. Still an unreal run they went on to even get to Pittsburgh but without Merriman and Tomlinson....tough sledding.

As for next week...anyone really willing to bet against the Cards? Even though they will be dogs i would think...I know I wouldnt.

so why couldn't the Steelers run the ball in after it hit the Charger's player in the helmet on the punt?

Interesting that Tomlin didn't get a single mention for coach of the year.

A team with no superstars. They'll probably win the Super Bowl.

It's the muffed punt rule. Basically the other team never had possession of the ball, but they did contact it. You can regain possession, but you can not advance the ball. Its like an incomplete pass verses a completed pass with possession and a fumble type of thing.

1 play in the third quarter for San Diego....Yikes! You can't win a football game when that happens. Especially on the road in a tough environment like that.

Well a threematch in Pittsburgh for the AFC Championship game. Given how close those two teams were in the games they played this year, I'm a bit leary as to whether Pittsburgh can win a third game in the same season against the Ravens.

The other game has me a on the fence too. It would seem the Eagles should be able to go on the road and be able to defeat the Cardinals. But the Cardinals have turned it on again there now that it matters again and have been doing things you need to do to win football games. Will this be the first time ever that a Conference Champion got there with 9 wins during the regular season?

I'll grace you with some bravado.

Steelers win easily next week.

That's as far as I'm willing to go.

The only year in which they did not make the NFC Championship was McNabb's first full year as starter.
Again, I've said this several times....his name needs to be thrown in there with Manning and Brady for the elite QB's of the last 7-8 yrs. The guy gets it done, when healthy, year after year.

I'm with you on the receiver thing too, but to the Eagles front office's credit they did make a valiant attempt to lure Randy Moss this past offseason.

What a win! The Eagles matchup extremely well with the Cards. Yes the Cards look like a different team and have 2 impressive wins in the playoffs, but the Eagles run defence is elite, and their secondary....well, is pretty much the best in the NFL. The Cards turnaround in the playoffs has largely to do with more emphasis on their ground game. IMO that happens to play into the Eagles strength, but it will be a tough game. If the offense puts up a decent amount of points it should be very winnable.

His name should be nowhere near those two and he is lucky if he gets included with the next set of QB's in the league.

I know you've got big hate on for McNabb but the guy is an elite QB. Third-highest winning percentage among active QBs, second best TD to interception ratio in NFL history, over 25,000 yards passing. Donovan is the #3 QB in the NFL right now behind Manning and Brady.

EDIT: And I'm going to qualify that by saying he might actually be fourth behind Drew Brees.

I'd take Rivers over him as well.

Cards/Eagles will be a really interesting game.

I think there are 2 questions about it.
Does the Cards D stay at the same ball-hawking level they have been playing at so far?
Can the Offensive line pick up all the blitzes you know Jim Johnson is going to come with?

If those 2 things happen the Card will win. If the first doesn't happen it could be a shoot-out. If the second doesn't happen it will be an easy Eagle win. If neither happen it will be a blow-out.

I think the Eagles win the NFC.

The AFC for me is hard to predict, can a mediocre offence in Pitt score against the Ravens. I see that game soemthing like 17-14 or lower. I think The Ravens win it because Flaco doesnt turn the ball over, and Rothlesburger does.

I would love an Eagles Steelers superbowl. Battle of Pennsylvania would be fantastic.

Whoo. Eagles v Steelers would be wicked. I'm sure both will be favourites in their games.

Pittsburgh v Baltimore

Baltimore was lucky to beat Tennessee. Tennessee was able to efficiently move the ball, but lost due to fumbles and penalties. As long as Pittsburgh doesn't shoot itself in the foot, they'll win easily.

Philly v Arizona

Eagles, all the way.

Not now? He is currently in his prime. Was the highest rated QB this season and set a franchise record for TD passes. Beating the mark set by a first ballet Hall of Famer. Why he isn't in the Pro-Bowl is beyond most people.

One season does not make a career. Just ask Carson Palmer. I think Rivers is very good and is possibly the most underrated QB in the league. It's just my opinion and it's worth no more or less than anybody else's

Of course not. He still had a pretty good year last year as well. You gotta admire the guy that plays with a torn ACL (or what ever it was).

I need to go take a shower now after defending a division rivals QB.

He is also one of my keepers in my fantasy league.
