Not sure this holds true (Even for a show like this). Honestly, Futurama's first run (I don't have legal access to its new season and don't want to delve into illegal on this forum) bounced around a lot of times and I think eventually played every weekday night at one point, but was good enough for a revival.

To be fair, i have to talk about the main characters and how they seem stuck in a time warp.. Season one to current the characters HAVE NOT CHANGED...
Ted: Single at the beginning, looking for love, lost love, wanted single, now seems to be wanting jobs... like the show is called "HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER".. seems to have lost that point.
Robin: She has been the same, "I want love" "i dont know how to handle love" etc. for 6 years... boring.
Marshall: I am quirky and married and i love my wife and am never sad or anything..
Lilly: I am a bitch who only cares about myself blah blah blah
Barney: is awesome.
The show seems stuck, no character progression... nothing really.
I stopped watching like mid season 4, i see the occasional episode now but i cant get into it, it seems stripped of the fun/quirky/heart filled show that it once was. Now its just a regular sitcom.
Watch Season 1 and tell me that this show is anything like how it used to be, the characters are all the same, but it has no heart or soul.

HIMYM was initially funny, but as the poster above says, there has been no character development at all. And most of the episodes are utter cringeworthy schilitz

They need to introduce the "mother" quick. That could open up new ideas like her hating Ted (not much of a stretch) and his attempts to get her to like him. I guess I'd be more "How I got your mother to like me".

I think they should do the total swerve at the end, where they show the mother, then flash to the future narrator and its Robyn who turned out to be a lesbien.

Or... Their mother is actually a robot because due Ted not being able to find love he turns to a cyborge wife in 2012, which were developed by the Adult Film Industry in 2011 because the devastating film production shut-down of 2010 was crippling their industry.

Another really good example is "The Wedding Bride" movie.

Bump, new episode tonight, caught the east coast feed. For a show that likes to do things differently, I'm not sure what to think about this one. Any thoughts?

Yeesh, I wasn't expecting that to be what the show was counting down too...that was really, really sad. I wonder how the rest of the season is going to shape up.

I thought it was a good episode. End really caught me by surprise and didn't expect it which is unusual for TV these days.

Naw, if I'm writing the the show I don't have Ted meet the mother until the very last show. I mean the title of the show is How I Met Your Mother the whole premise of the show is the buildup to that moment. Having the show continue after that would just be pointless. I will say that the show is running low on creative juice and they should start prepping for that moment thou.

Was wondering what the numbers were counting down to. Sure wasn't expecting that.
Here's a link to all the numbers.

Jason Segal has some really talented acting chops, the guy can handle himself with some serious material and I actually can't wait for him to land a movie where we get to see more of that acting style.
As for the whole mother debate, I don't think I'd want to wait till the very last episode to finally meet Ted's wife but I also don't want 2 plus seasons of knowing who she is.

He's also a fantastic writer, and I've always felt that he never got enough credit for Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
I can't wait to see his Muppets project in Fall 2011.

So what, does he have ball cancer or something? I saw about 5 minutes of this show last night and the girl said she was fertile and the Forgetting Sarah Marshall dude realized he was the problem. Did he get his nuts chopped off at the end of the show by his wife because he was the reason they couldn't have kids?
