Just found this thread - great idea, wish I had gotten in on this. Some great (and interesting) picks so far - look forward to seeing what else gets drafted!

There's a literary draft, maybe you should get in on that one.
well, I'm not much of a fan of Rap/Hip-hop, so I'll grab that while there's still a good selection of them out there. The Band With No Name will take the Run DMC classic:
Features new vocal and guitar parts by Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith based on their original 1975 recording, as well as a sample of the original drum intro during the second verse
Walk This Way was played to death, and it helped save the band Aerosmith (which isn't really all that good because they haven't had anything really interesting since the 70's) but it was a fun song for awhile.
You Be Illin still makes me laugh. And it's just about as far from an annoying Gangsta Rap record as you can get.

Raising Hell
I was thinking of that record too. I like It's Tricky.
I was going to leave this one for later in the draft, but given what some of you are picking, maybe I'll pick it up now.
For the second round, in the Punk Rock category, I pick Fire of Love by The Gun Club.
I only found this album a year or so ago, but man, what a revelation. It's everything I love in rock and roll, put together in a way I'd never quite heard before. There are dozens of records that I'd like to pick in this category, but start to finish, this one is my favorite.
As my second round choice I choose for the punk category Refused's The Shape of Punk to Come :
Released in Oct. 1998 the album's title became very prophetic as it influenced the next generation of punk and hardcore bands. Created a new sound that although was reminiscent of bands like Nation of Ulysses was unique in its own way. I wasn't going to pick this album because it's fairly well known, but it also had a profound impact on my life.

In the category of Soundtrack, I choose Ennio Morricone's score for The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. This is one of only two soundtracks I own and I believe it to be the best original score of any film I've ever seen. I love it.

St. Elsewhere is the debut album by Gnarls Barkley, a collaboration between Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo. The album was originally titled Who Cares? in reference to the low sales Gnarls Barkley prematurely predicted their album would experience. It was released on April 24, 2006 in the United Kingdom, where it debuted at number one on the UK Album Chart,[1] and on May 9, 2006 in the United States, although it was available for purchase one week earlier as a digital download in the U.S. iTunes Music Store. It debuted at number twenty on the U.S. Billboard 200, and as of the Billboard 200 issue date of August 5, 2006, it peaked at #4 on this chart.
The album has received mostly positive reviews from music critics, most of whom praised the album's innovation and high production values, and has a total score of 81 on Metacritic.[5]
The album was rated as the best release of 2006 by popmatters.[1]
Refused should be moved to Punk Category on board.
Oops, fixed.
