I don't see how he isn't effective in an NHL top 9 role now. Like, today.. with those tools.

Excellent late 1st pick by the Flames. Hats off to them.

Flames only have 1 group scheduled for practice for the rest of the week.

Expect cuts announced tomorrow morning before 12:30pm MT practice.

Yeah no Wolf star in a game where no player had more than 1 point is hilarious.

Because it's Wolf's everyday regular game.

Naturally I'm most excited to see Parekh in his first season and Wolf in his sophomore season... but aside from those too, I'm really getting excited about how good Frost has looked throughout this entire preseason.

(Oh, also I'm excited to see how many Coronato can bury this season!)

Both of Gridin's goals were lightning fast releases.

Hell, he could be our shootout specialist!

Also Wolf is godly. He is kipper reincarnated (even though he is still alive–he definitely visited a witch in the scandenavian woods and transferred his powers to Wolf)

I know the flames were outplayed for long stretches in this game but I liked a lot of players tonight for them. Pretty much every player on the bubble showed some flashes of what they can bring to the team.

Wolf is just so fun to watch. Beyond the bias of being a flames fan… he is the most entertaining goalie to watch in the game today IMO. His size makes him such a throwback because he has to be elite in every aspect of goaltending to compensate for it and it’s so much better watching a goalie stops pucks because he is quick and because he reads plays at an elite level rather than just being big.

You should've heard the noise I made when I saw that go in live.

I made it again watching the replay...

Now if we can get the other guy who has a release like that to bounce back this year we could have some serious sniping going on. Sharangovich, Coronato, and Griden.

I've been done with the whole 6'5 goalie with no lateral movement for awhile now. I've been begging for athletic goalies to make a comeback, and thanks to Saros, Shesterkin and now Wolf we might start seeing it happen.

Been trying to figure out who Gridin reminds me of and I think it’s Kyle Connor. Great straight line speed and a deadly shot. Plays such a great North-South game. And he is such a calm, calculated shooter.

Of course that’s a big bar to set for a young player. Not saying he will be as good as Kyle Connor… just that Gridin’s skillset reminds me of him.

That might be the fastest wrist shot I’ve ever seen in all my years of watching hockey. Like, I’ve watched it a dozen times and it’s so quick that it seems like the video is broken.

Absolutely filthy. If that shot doesn’t cement him a spot in the lineup, it would be criminal.

Still can’t believe that legit happened.
