What better way than painting a rosy picture for the Riders and nothing but gloom and doom for the Stamps who not so long ago were looked upon as a flagship franchise.

Why? Because the hated Riders are ranked first and the Stamps last. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Let’s see your ranking. (I’m not a Riders’ fan.) Preseason rankings are meaningless anyway.

Also, I don't think it's anything to get too up in arms about, power rankings are meaningless and as we all know, the season doesn't really start until Labour Day.

Historically since Huff took over, the Stamps rarely ever fire coordinators (they usually leave for promotions) so I find it curious given all the coaches and coordinators from other teams fired over the years, when the Stamps finally fire a couple of coordinators it's considered scapegoating. As a Stamps fan I feel the change at DC especially was due for a few years so there's clearly something personal going on with some of the writers at that site.

Here is the last piece.

With all due respect to Dominique Rhymes, Damon Webb, and Tevin Jones, the fans were expecting more and the situation has only gotten worse due to the sudden release of Demerio Houston.

Outside of Johnny Markov, did we expect the Stamps to sign every free agent?

Those are 3 very good players. They made aggressive pitches to others. And shrugging of VA and Flo like they are nothing trades is hilarious.

The situation has only gotten worse. How? Did they even hear that the Flames will not handle catering, they installed a new gym.

Got rid of 2 respected coordinators? Did they even hear about the players complaining about the poor coaching on the defensive side of the ball.

It's like a hit blurb and we did nothing wrong. How about commenting on how unprofessional Ed Hervy attacked Eugine Lewis for no reason.

Yeah being ranked #9 is fine we finished in last place, but we did things to make it better, but it was negative.

Technically they didn't get fired, contracts expired and we moved on.

But its funny, Stamps need change player poll say bad coaching on defensive side. Ok new coaches. Wow Stamps scapegoating coaches.

Is there anything more useless than offseason power rankings? I get that football media has to write something in the offseason but it's meaningless at the end of the day.

It's really not about the ranking but what they wrote.

They made some big trades, and they also made some big signings. They made it sound like we signed some scrubs and cut Houston just because.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over it as if anything it's bulletin board material for the team to use as motivation to prove the doubters wrong. Once the season gets underway, the results are all that matters.

Doesn't seem like Hamilton cares about defence this year.

Stamps sign 25 year old American receiver Josh Ali...

The Calgary Stampeders have signed American receiver Josh Ali.

The six-foot, 191-pound native of Miami, Fla. signed with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent in 2022 and dressed for two regular-season games, recording one target. He initially made the team’s active roster in 2023 but was placed on injured reserve and was cut following training camp in 2024.

Harris will be 39 at the start of the season and has never won a Grey Cup as a starting QB. There's a good chance Maier will be starting a good handful of games for them. I don't get the love but I suspect the web site is needing clicks.

losing the 38-year-old for any stretch of time is less intimidating with Jake Maier as the backup.

lol have no fear Jake Maier is here.

Stampeder signings salaries. We got Rhymes and Jones for less than Lawler, Lewis and Mcinnis.

I think we did well and we spent money.

Good to see the Stamps dipping in the marketing money. I don't like the marketing money thing but it looks like it's a tool a team needs to use to be competitive in free agency.

They should use every tool available. Tidy piece of business though getting Rhymes and Jones for the price of a Lawler or Lewis. Rhymes is just are productive as those 2 plus you get a guy that can stretch the field.

I know a lot of the Stamps are cheap or wont spend in free agency is thrown at Daves feet, but Huff did the same thing.

I remember when Bo came back from his NFL tryouts and was a free agent he wanted to come back here but Huff wasn't willing to pay. So he got that massive offer from Toronto not Saskatchewan as Lalji wants people to think and took it to Huff and said you don't have to match it but come close and he finally did. Bo's comment was I finally got Huff to open his wallet in free agency.

Dakota Prukop is the Stamps new QB coach...

The Calgary Stampeders have named Dakota Prukop as their new quarterbacks coach.

“We only had a short time together when Dakota was at our camp but he impressed me with his work ethic and knowledge of the game,” said head coach and general manager Dave Dickenson in a statement. “I know he will enhance our QB room and we look forward to seeing him develop in his new coaching role.”

Beau Baldwin, who served as the quarterbacks coach in Calgary last season, has stepped down. This team indicated this was due to personal health reasons.
