Dammit! Yeah. its going to 'space whale jump.'
If they can get Henry Winkler to ski behind a space whale...
And so far I actually like this show, its just not going anywhere and I really dont like Ahsoka as a character.

Well this was the best and worst at once. Loved the duals. I was enjoying where it was going. Then the world between worlds appears and, as it does, ruins everything.
Like, just have her floating in the ocean at the end. Or hanging from the cliff. Or standing on one of the rocks at the bottom. F***ing world between worlds. Ugh. I knew it was coming eventually but damn I hate it.

I'd just like an explanation of how we transitioned there. As long as we get that I'm alright with it. But poofing there doesn't really work for me.
When Gandalf fell we got to see everything that transpired in the next film. Hopefully we get something similar next episode.

Yeah I'm like.... okay so does Ashoka not die then? She just goes to the world between worlds. Or is this what all Force Ghosts are walking through? That could maybe make sense.
Also what happened to the dusted Inquisitor? Is that what happens to slain Sith now?

The bolded part has been kind of explained a few times in this thread--Night Sister magic resurrected that inquisitor. In Clone Wars animated series, there was a character that was 'brother' to Maul who was resurrected the same way, and when he fell to Palpatine, he dusted in a similar way.

Thrawn promises order without the malignancy of Palpatine.
But he'll become a liability at some point. His Padawan, Shin, I think is going to go completely evil if Baylon is killed. She might end up being the big bad by the end of the year.
|
I think Baylon has some other reason for wanting to get to this Galaxy. I think Thrawn might be a bit of a McGuffin that Ashoka is chasing with a bigger threat actually behind him.

Its actually funny, because in Ahsoka....Ahsoka is the least interesting character.
When things got hard, Ahsoka quit. Why am I supposed to be interested in this character?

Like what? We already know that its the First Order who are complete Clowns.
Unless there is some unknown 'Space Whale animosity?'

The first order isn't in a separate galaxy, they're in unknown space in the current galaxy. In the EU, the only extra galactic race that we see is the Vong, and I doubt Filoni is going to bring them in.
Thrawn would be anti First Order, and really anti-final order.
On the Ashoka thing, I think for those of us who watched clone wars and rebels we got spoiled by Eckstein and the animation style that bought her alive.
I would like an explanation on why this Ashoka is so dour, low energy and pretty negative.
I mean even after Anakin's fall to Vader, she was still the Ashoka we knew and loved. But the failure of Sabine's training couldn't have wrecked her so completely.

To be honest this describes me (casual, don’t invest in the animated stuff) and I’m now 2.5 seasons into Rebels.
It’s not “great”, but that’s through the lens of a old man. It’s written for young adults, so generally frenetic, predictable, and without consequence.
End of season 2 was quite well done, but that was because it was capitalizing on the cache of Vader and Maul, not on its own merits IMO. I sort of laughed when I realized how Obi-Wan’s climax was a straight ripoff from it though!
I can see getting mileage out of it if you are hard core into SW, but if Disney is relying on it’s lore as a fundamental for the Ahsoka show there is naturally going to be a huge amount of confusion (like the Inquisitor smoke monster).
It’s sort of like being required to watch the Star Trek Animated series before Strange New Worlds?
All that said, maybe the last season and a half will change my opinion.

Rebels does what Clone Wars does, it starts as written for Kids and young adults and shifts slowly as it goes along to become darker and more adult like. I mean.

I bet the bigger threat is the Grysk:
https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Grysk
There's also the Yuuzhan Vong, who were responsible for 300 trillion deaths in the main galaxy when they invaded. Cannibalistic nomadic warrior creatures with ships made of organic materials.
Just the New Order? Lol.

I've been thinking the same thing. She was way more interesting and cool when they re-introduced her in the Mandalorian.
Also, and I've mentioned this earlier in the thread; the fate of the galaxy appears to be at stake here. And Luke Skywalker, arguably the most powerful and badass Jedi still alive during this time period, is just sitting on the sidelines?? Dude probably could have taken out Baylan and Shin single-handedly.
Ahsoka appears to be pretty good buds with him as well judging by those scenes from the Boba Fett series. Would it really hurt to give him a call and say "hey man, are you busy right now? Because this situation has taken a turn for the worst and we could really use some help laying the smackdown on these a**holes."
All that being said, I quite enjoyed the latest episode. Those lightsaber duels were really well done.

Maybe its a case of 'Turnabout is Fair Play?'
Luke had to defeat Vader and Emperor on his own while Ahsoka sat back and twiddled her thumbs, maybe he's just thinking:
"This sounds like a whole lot of 'your problem' so figure it out!"

It's a really good point about Luke....
If they were planning ahead all they needed to do was slip a couple lines of dialogue into boba episode 6
Have ahsoka bring up her suspicions about thrawn, then have Luke reiterate that his place right now is at the temple rebuilding the order.
Could've even had him tell her to contact him if #### goes sideways and show her trying to send a message when they crash land in the forest but it can't reach him.
Very little content needed to fill a pretty big hole.
But yeah the fate of the galaxy seems like something at the very least worth mentioning in passing when they were hanging out with grogu lol..

Say it with me... Ah-soka. Ah-soka. Ahsoka. It's really not that hard guys!
Can't wait to see what happens this week and where they decide to go with the whole Anakin / World Between Worlds situation. I really hope they don't plan on continuously dumping Ahsoka into that place for every time she almost dies, as much as I love the whole concept.

Ok, I've been thinking about the reasons for the appearance of Anakin in the World between worlds, and also about Ashoka and what seems like a life time of torture as she questions every decision she's made. The following is speculation. Remember I said earlier that I expect that Anakin is there to help Ashoka with her choices concerning the training of Sabine. Well, I think its much worse. In spoilers below though I don't think its spoilers just a fan theory gone mad.

You put more thought into Star Wars than any writer has in any show ive seen.

The look on her face when she said "Anakin" gave me hope.
There was a flash of the Ahsoka we know from before.
This version of Ahsoka is way to ostentatious. I picked up on it during The Mandalorian as well. She's snarky, not smug, there is a difference. Indifferent to the Jedi Order, not pretentious about it.
I believe that the Jedi Ghosts live in the world between worlds, that is why Anakin looks 'normal' and not ghosty. They have to take on that form to visit the living world. Ahsoka is dying, thus her visit. Anakin will guide her back though.
