The Bills might have some locker room drama with Diggs. But no one is talking about them like last year. Between the Hamlin situation and the snow storm that moved their game to Detroit. I think that took a larger toll on that group than they admitted to. So I wouldn't be surprised if they don't come out very focused and blow out the rest of the AFC. Last year they were the team that was a Superbowl favorite screwed by a coin toss the previous year. This year they've got a lot more to prove and that might make them better.

I think the Eagles might be in bigger trouble on defense than people think. Just lost Dean for several weeks, and their LB core was already CFL-caliber.
They played a crappy offense in awful conditions yesterday, and Mac Jones was still able to light them up once Bill O'Brien realized he just had to work the middle of the field.

Like a lot of people, I was pretty surprised that the Eagles didn't completely run away with that one after the early 16-0 lead. Bellichick will usually have a pretty sound defence. But the Eagles only points in the second half were essentially 3 field goals from 50 yards out or more. The Pats did something right to keep them to 250 yards with less than 100 rushing or they were really rusty on offence.

Yeah I definitely think this will be the norm going forward, especially with increased player safety concerns turning pre-season into more optional appearances by starters, particularly star-calibre ones. Maybe 1 or 2 drives the entire preseason and thsts it. It seems coaches put more stock into TC joint practices these days than the pre-season games themselves when it comes to evaluating starters.
The CFL was the same (obviously not the same talent level), where first month was dominated by talk of how the calibre was so poor the league may fold, and now has rounded into quite an entertaining product the past few weeks. I think NFL Septembers are going to be a bit of a dog's breakfast going forward in terms of game quality, as it's going to take players longer to shake the off-season rust with less pre-season action.

Maybe it's me but I switched back and forth a lot yesterday and it seemed like the officials in almost all the games were letting a lot of pass interference go. Lots of uncalled jersey tugs by DB's that were pretty blatant that they chose not to throw the flag.

Interesting, as the Saints-Titans game felt like a flag-fest. I guess that level of inconsistently tells you the refs are shaking off the off-season rust as well.

I recall a deep ball thrown by Carr inside the Titans 5 yard line late in the game that was blatant PI and no call.

Chris Jones has ended his holdout. No new deal, but gets additional incentives on the one year he has left on his contract.

First 2-3 weeks are pretty much pre-season games that count in the NFL.
Teams are rusty, haven't really played a full game or a full roster, and generally it's been pretty ugly football the last couple years.

Yeah and then they called a mirror image one on the Saints on the following drive on 3rd down that resulted in points for the Titans. So maddening (as you can imagine...since the 2018 NFCCG, DPI is an especially touchy subject with Saints fans).

Damnit TSN, first they move RedZone to the paid TSN + service and now they don't show the Manningcast for MNF. TSN can #### off this season.
