Even if the team isn’t as skilled as it was last year, Sutter shouldn’t be forgiven for playing Huberdeau with Looch for a month while only giving him a few games in the original line configuration, playing Markstrom over and over when he shouldn’t be, embarrassing his players publicly, misusing our developing prospects, and generally being an obstinate #######.

They had a few chances. Most, not some, shots weren't dangerous. Mange's post doesn't even count as a shot. Just saying our shot total shouldn't be any indication of winning or losing or how dangerous we are.

Can’t say I agree with this. The team was way more talented last season. This team is loaded with more depth/support talent - that does not equate “more skilled”.

Your high end skill is what dictates success in this league. This team has zero high end skill.

We look back at Geoff Ward's time and see similar results though. I don't share the opinion that Sutter hates offense, he's working with what he's got. If he had impact players like McDavid or McKinnon, their numbers may drop a bit because of the defense first structure, but they would still be producing at a high clip. And it make sense. If you gonna win the cup, you gotta be able to keep the puck out of your net first. Oilers got swept by Avs because they couldn't defend, against a team that can do both.

Plus, those teams have offense depth due to more than one player that can carry the game.

Flames don't even have a single player that can flirt with putting up 50 goals, nevermind having three 40 goal scorers like last season.

I'm feeling pretty done with the Flames until they either: sell off, move on from the coach, replace the GM, or trade Markstroms contract and start the era of the Wolf

Something meaningful has to change. These guys are too checked out and not playing up to their ability
