Nobody has mentioned anything coming back as of yet. I think if there was a hint of a return we would of heard something by now
Get ready for a pure cap dump

I bet the Yotes aren't on as many NTC lists as you'd think. Crap team, and no arena at the moment, but lots of players love it there.

I'd be more worried it's a first + to make this work.
Monahan is an expensive broken player who hasn't been a top six (nine?) player in years.

I'd honestly rather have traded the Flames 23 1st then the Florida pick just because you get some time value on the Florida pick and I don't think the Flames pick would be any higher than 20th.

The 2023 draft though seems to have a good amount of talent through the first. Would prefer they keep that pick

Lets get these details! I have a ton of time sensitive work to do. But, Clearly that has to wait for this first.

I'm not sure how deep 2023's draft will be, but if it's anything close to what it was 20 years prior, I'd be okay with a pick that late.

Earlier picks are almost always more valuable than later year's picks.

I think it will be the Florida 2025 first too. Really the Flames have little influence or control on that and it could slide to 2026. So give the Panthers a little incentive not to give a lottery pick to a Division rival.

Lower of the ‘25 firsts might make some sense. Still would like a lower pick back for proper value IMO.

Oh for sure but teams have imploded pretty quickly and could fluke out into one of those Makar situations. I'd take that over a late 1st round but that's just me

I think from the Flames perspective, if we have a good year and make some moves at the deadline we will want our upcoming first. I imagine from a value standpoint, teams getting a pick in the upcoming draft is more enticing over a pick 3 years from now. The odd's of that FLA pick being a top pick is super low and I think GM's know that. That is going to be a good team for the foreseeable future. The only chance it could be high would be due to injuries but its still lottery protected anyways.

Montreal has to do something else soon, if it is a cap dump deal for us they will be 6M over the cap.

That's fair. Aren't they are all kind of hyped up until they go down though?

The Florida pick it top 10 protected.
The Flames 2023 pick would be considered to have way more value, especially since it's considered a very deep draft.
