Darryl doesn’t miss a beat though. Challenges the second and third line to be better. Reminds Tkachuck it’s just one game and he needs to do it again, calls out the refs for the lack of instigator penalty. What a gem.
Man, Hrudey can just be an absolute drip sometimes. 3 40-goal scorers and two with 100+ points, 48 + 50 pt defencemen, and a 35 goal scorer. Yeah. Low scoring team. It astounds me sometimes how little they actually pay attention. The 2006 103 pt Pacific Division-winning Flames were a low-scoring team. This is not that team.

Was Hrudey reading off a script written for him by SN?

Coming out of the Dome tonite they had the Flaming C in lights on the Telus Sky building. Awesome.

My second game this year so maybe that’s been a thing.

Just a fantastic team win. Credit the entire defence. They were beasts. Board battles were fantastic.

So glad Coleman came back. He was amazing. He’s going to be key to our run.

Solid win. That first period was bonkers — Calgary turned the dial to 11 from the beginning.

Third period was intense even though there weren’t many shots allowed; all it takes is one to pinball in from somewhere.

Full marks for the C of Red — the Dome was packed and it was loud. I’ll even forgive the LBMs (lower bowl morons) in section 107 who insisted on starting the wave with five minutes left. Do better.

I ask in all honesty, why are we against the wave? Why can't people enjoy the game however they feel they want to?

It's the first I've heard of this being an issue

Yea, Hrudey turns into a completely different person on the panel. Usually I don't mind him, but tonight I had zero positive thoughts about him.

Greg Millen also had no idea tonight.

“Watch, the Flames are going to sit back in the neutral zone and nurse this lead with 5 minutes to go”
Flames end up pressing the attack, forcing the goalie back in and forechecking in the offensive end in the last thirty seconds.

“There will be no passes through the centre of the ice”
Flames pass to an open centre who skates out of the zone.

Don’t get me wrong I don’t mind Greg or Hrudey for that matter but CBC / Rogers was amateur hour tonight. I was out in Vancouver tonight watching the game at my in-laws and had to watch it on my laptop because CBC took the triple overtime Pens vs Rangers game to the end. I assume CBC Calgary picked up the SNW feed but kind of ####ty if you were in another province and wanted to watch the Canadian team with the statistical best chance of going to the finals in action tonight. National broadcaster and they picked two American teams? Wtf?

Post game was severely lacking too. 30 seconds of panel and off to the SN highlight reel crew.

Hrudey sucks.

He’s anti-Sutter, which makes him anti-Flames.

His ability as a colour commentator is severely lacking.

Great game overall. I thought the C of Red was fantastic tonight so good job to all the fans. Amazing first 10 minutes and great job giving Dallas nothing all night.

I remember game 1 against Colorado in 2019 and despite winning 4-0 the crowd was chanting “Smitty” all night because he made some key stops. We didn’t even get the chance to chant for Marky as he faced very little

Very effective when they were on.
Kylington clearly not the workhorse Sutter will rely on.

.
ice time story was interesting - alot of special teams of course. Kylington not only doesn't PK, but sorta lost his partner to Hanifin

Heiskanen played nearly 30 minutes tonight, including about 21 minutes at 5 on 5 in a game that I wasn't sure had 25 minutes of 5 on 5

no forward for either team played more than 20 minutes- in contrast the Oilers-King game yesterday featured 8 forwards over 20, some well over. totally different series to be sure

Ya Sutter said in his interview at the end of the game that the defensive minutes were hard to manage without Rasmus and with all the penalty killing in the second. Wouldn’t read too much info Kylington’s minutes.

Because it blocks my view. If it’s a blow out, go nuts. Tie or 1 goal game? Sit the #### down.

Weird.
I'm in Kamloops and SNWest was showing the game. It's usually blacked out here, but tonight it was available. Strange that it was available here, but not in Vancouver.
