Also Backlund needs to get those shots on the rush on target. Feels like too many times in recent years as a team they create a shot off the rush, miss wide then it's a fire drill the other way that often ends in a goal against.

It's likely confirmation bias but I feel Backlund is a huge perpetrator of this situation.

It's official. I cannot stand the radio pbp guy. He has called at least 4 different player names wrong and overall just awful. It's amazing how many plays he misses because he's talking like it's a AA baseball game. Honestly I don't know how anybody can listen to a Flames game with him calling the game. You just miss so much. You're actually listening to maybe a 3rd of the damn game.

Makes me curious about the new coaching staff and what they might bring to re-thinking the team's approach. You'd have to think some of those issues were identified down the stretch and the hires were made accordingly.

Definitely something to keep an eye on. It does seem to be becoming a trend.

It's the first game of the preseason for a bunch of these guys though so I'm not going to panic...... yet.
