The USHL is considered to be a hard league to score in, and this kid had 48 goals in 51 games-and Scorp says it was the second best goal-scoring total in the last 27 years. Amazing compete level, good 200-ft game, plays with snarl, fancy stats are off the charts. His draft season is much better than Kyle Connor's. If you want to nitpick, there's the size, but that's it.

Is the USHL actually a good league, watching those highlights Matthew Coronato doesn't really look to flashy or anything, he has the shot and can finish but I wonder about the caliber of hockey.

He's not the biggest or smallest player ever drafted but he's still only 18 and can fill out that way.

But going by all those scouting reports it sounds like a good pick.

It’s a fresh wound for Flames fan. Bloody Fox just won the Norris. I think it’s good that they bring it up, and I’m excited by his response.

I didn’t look at Coronato much leading up to the draft. Was initially hoping for Sillinger/Lucius/Wallstedt, but this pick looks damn solid.

Of course the media needs to ask the question. No one has said they should be cheerleaders. Just because people are tired of the constant negativity doesn't mean we want our media to be cheerleaders.
