The agents were also negotiating with different GMs

No idea what they're smoking in Missouri, but it isn't legal there (yet).

Sure it does, but it doesn't contribute to the narrative that playing in St. Louis is Tkachuk's sacred destiny.
Remember, the primary job of a sports journalist in the 21st century is not to report the facts, but to get lots of clicks. ‘Tkachuk to St. Louis for three rolls of stick tape!’ is classic clickbait.

Do the Flames even care?
The only organization in pro hockey that shows any sign of caring what the press thinks is the Oilers, and they deal with it by TELLING their press what to think.

Nah they don't care what the fans think, I should have used green text.

That's as bad as suggesting we could get Eichel for Monahan, Kylington and a first.
Just a brutal proposal. If Treliving does a deal like that he should be fired.
|
But what if Treliving pulled off both?
Eichel, Dunn, top prospect and a first in; Tkachuk, Monahan, Killington and a first out.
Should Treliving be fired for that?

Since we're down to firing Treliving for hypotheticals anyway, it's obvious that he should be fired no matter what he does or doesn't do.

Depends on who the top prospect is really. It also depends on what the medical report says about Tarasenko's prognosis.

If he can do those things I would be happy but I don't see a world where that happens.
Eichel would cost Chucky Valimaki and a 1st+ likely, and I don't think you get Dunn a first and a top prospect for Monahan and Kylington.
My objection isn't towards the players involved, just the Quality for Quantity trade that St. Louis media suggested.

I still think people are going to be underwhelmed at what Eichel actually returns.
