I actually think Nordstrom could be the odd guy out.
He’s not overly big. He’s not overly skilled. He’s not overly fast.
I don’t see Sutter keeping him in the lineup just to be a PK specialist, don’t think that is Sutter’s style at all.

Stephane Yelle had a significant role in 2004

Nordstrom is nothing like Yelle. The year before the Cup run he was the Flames #5 scoring forward.

My thoughts exactly. Nordstrom out, Bennett in and maybe even in that exact spot. He needs a defined role, and maybe this is it.

Is it just me or did Treliving not use the word "process" at all today?

Odds Sutter loves Chris Tanev?
Probably 100%

It will definitely be interesting to see what happens with Sammy boy. He either buys in or he's gone very soon.
I hope, for everyone involved, he just gets traded imminently and we move on.
I don't think Sutter is going to save Sam Bennett.

Lol. Because he played 82 games?
Elite defensive player but let’s not pretend 25 points is top 6 production
I know Yelle is better than Nordstrom by the way but you missed the point
Players have strengths. Role players have roles. Ward’s blender had too many players not knowing who they would be playing with or what their role was

For the people who commented on Treliving not looking happy, I mean of course he's not happy. Even if this was his choice and not management's choice, this meant he made a mistake in hiring Ward as HC last fall. Plus, he just got off firing the guy, so it's pretty understandable he'd look down and tired.

Maybe Nordstrom under Ward.
Nordstrom was fairly decent on the Bruins last year.

Geoff Ward got his dream job at 58. All the years, all the other things he could've done for more stability or security.
He was a coach because he loves it. And he sacrificed for it. That's not an easy discussion.
I like Ward because he came across as not only a smart hockey guy to me but also because he seemed like a genuine decent man. A guy you would love to be your neighbor.
I'm happy about Darryl but not this situation.

If I missed the point it is because you didn't make one. What else is one supposed to infer from your "Stephan Yelle's significant role" response to the thought that Nordstrom will be the odd man out?

I can't help but comment about this! I lived in Ireland from 2006-2017 and I cannot remember once reading any article about NHL hockey. Sure you might find scores occasionally, and you might get a report on who won the Stanley Cup, but an article on a coaching change in Calgary, Alberta Canada and not some place like New York City. My mind was totally blown when I heard him introduce himself and my initial thought was WTH??? there is no way The Irish Times is posting an article on a coaching change in the NHL? Surely not?

Ya that was great. I would have liked to hear what he had to say up and down the lineup.
His read on Gio was especially interesting. He talked about wanting Gio to just play and helping lift the responsibility of getting the group going.
Hard to be "Mr young and fresh" when you're the one people look to for the performance of a such an inconsistent group.
