Well not everyone can keep up with all the trolls, and quickly fact checking information on a message board is something I appreciate. People read this, I read it for years without an account, as one of many news sources I frequent.
Also it’s hard for there not to be pages of responses to something so inflammatory, dangerous, and ridiculous, when hundreds of people use this forum daily. It isn’t piling on as much as it is a simple numbers game.
And hasn’t this been the argument all election? “We can’t call half the country deplorables”. Well, same goes for conspiracy theorists, they are people and deserve the opportunity to be corrected and learn. Not dismissed because of their beliefs.

Anyways, back to the point of the thread. How is Jimmy Kimmel going to feed his family now that he can't recycle trump related jokes for months at an end?

In my view, it is essential that justice not only be done, but be seen to be done. This means that not only are crimes investigated, but they are prosecuted in the public view. Moreover, it means that those prosecutions can't be show trials - there should be no political influence or attachment to them: they should simply be allowed to unfold on their merits.
The US can and should allow these investigations to unfold. Putting a stop to them for political reasons is every bit as bad as initiating/conducting them for political reasons.
Even if there are not grounds to prosecute in most instances, there should be a public airing of what went on during the last administration. In Canada, we would use public inquiries for this purpose. They're toothless, but they're very good at bringing out the truth.
Whatever happens, the public needs to know what wrongs were committed by the last administration, especially if any are criminal in nature.

Shall we get back on track?
That's fair, but I do think prosecuting Trump could move the 47.5% that voted for him even further away from American unity.

Maybe a portion of that number.
I think it's probably important to remember that there are die-hard Republicans, and die-hard Trump supporters, and while they may overlap, they're still two distinct buckets.
If well-reasoned Republicans continue to come out against Trump (specifically against the conspiracy theory nonsense) I think that will diminish a lot of the effect any prosecution might have.

Because people provided information to counter a troll’s uninformed claims, from legitimate sources such as from the actual vendor, the Michigan government and CISA?

Alternative don't mention or give much credence to political affiliation during the pursuit of justice, so as to distance the effort from politics? Sounds crazy but it would help people who have fallen for identity politics(Republicans)not feel personally attacked.
Because world relations with the USA need to see some proof that they are worth any trust going forward.

Speaking of echo chambers, did Bizkit and JR survive the election or are they in republican poster heaven with Truman?

I like that point, but I think it's important to make sure that Rebublican support is there before persuing action. If it doesn't happen and Trump remains leader of the GOP as Fox news anchors are predicting, I think it will be a tougher sell.

Yep, ideally Fox News, in a bid to retain as many of the right-wing viewership as possible, turn on Trump. First they will critique his non-sense legal challenges, then they can go after him in criminal trials.
Ironically, they need to make Trump and his supporters out to be the fringe crazy conspiracy theorists so they aren't splitting viewers with OANN, Infowar, Brietbart, Bitchute content creators etc. once Trump goes on his warpath against MSM including Fox.

There's gonna be a few comedians that may have to actually put in work now to be funny.
SNL writers won't be able to parade Alec Baldwin out for every cold open and just have him repeat what Trump said.

Will be nice to be an Onion News' writer though. Just pull out some real headlines from the last four years and make them out to be satire again.
