Wow impressed by adding Glaus but also adding Santos makes for a great move by JP in my mind.
"Santos, who just two years ago was ranked by Baseball America as the organization's top prospect, was drafted out of high school by the Diamondbacks with their first pick in the 2002 draft. The 22-year-old had a steady rise through the system before stumbling a bit last year for Triple-A Tucson when he hit just .239 with 12 homers and 68 RBIs."

Rios is doing very poor in his Winterball league.
Right now, from top to bottom I like this Jays team.
1. Adams- Had a heck of a rookie year, and can only get better.
2. Cat- As a #2 guy I don't mind him at all. He's gonna get on base a lot for the 3 and 4 guys
3. Glaus- Is gonna help out VW a ton batting in front of him
4. Wells- I predict the biggest year of his carrer
5. Overbay- Better #'s Hillenbrand with a glove.
6. Hill- Very intrested to see what he can do with a full year in the majors
7. Koskie- Give this guy another year. He was injured all of last year, I think he can bring a lot to the Jays.
8. Rios- I still think Jp's gonna bring someone in here
9. Zaun- Perfect mentor to bring in Quiroz
Quiroz- One of the Jays top prospect
Johnson- Subs in for Cat against leftys
MacDonald- Soo glad the Jays got this guy back. His glove alone is amazing and he showed last year he can hold a bat when he's in the lineup
Hinske- I doubt the Jays can dump him, off the bench though not all bad.
Hillenbrand is all but gone, who do you think the Jays go after? There was a rumour on bluejaway that they had heard he was off to the Indians for an outfielder

I would expect Wells to hit at the 3 slot and Glaus behind him at 4, Wells with the higher average fits 3rd a little better. As for the trade rumour, I would love to see JP snag either Crisp or Sizemore from the Indians outfield. It would probably take a little more than just Hillenbrand though.
How about Hillenbrand + Rios or Cat for Grady Sizemore?

I agree with Well's being at 3rd. Your right there
Where does everyone think Overbay fits in? Is the #5 slot the most reasonable? Him only making less then half a million is a steal

#5 or #6. I'd even consider moving him up to the 3 spot and dropping Wells down to #5, where I think long-term he is best suited.

Agreed. I'd rather have the player with the higher OBP batting third, and that is Overbay. I would go Overbay, Glaus, Wells 3-4-5.

I second this list.
You want a player with Higher OBP in front of your power to load up the bases.
It will probably look like:
1. Adams
2. Cat
3. Overbay
4. Glaus
5. Wells
6. Koskie
7. Zaun
8. Hill
9. Rios
Cat IMO has a very respectable OBP as well as the ability to move runners over.

With the number of walks Overbay takes and his propensity for hitting doubles I think he will be batting number 2 at times this year but I think it is likely the order will be juggled between left and right handed starters if Johnson and Cat are platooning again. Overbay is big fat oprah tits as my lead off man in MVP 2005 I think he is batting like 320 and he hits the ball to the gap so many times - obviously this should be taken into account.

JP confirmed in the press conference today that Glaus would bat 4th. I really see Koskie as the odd man out, he doesn't deserve to be a bench player. If JP can't find a regular spot for him, then he should trade him.

It comes down to Koskie and Hillenbrand. If the Jays just wanna dump someone to clear up some room then they'll go with Koskie, so they can keep Shea, trade Koskie But if they wanna get something in return of good value they'll have to trade Shea as he has MUCH more value then Koskie does.
JP did say today he doesen't have to move anyone and it's there job to find a place for the guys to play. He also said that Hinske and him have talked about him playing LF so they can keep his bat on the team

Jp added not in his wildest dreams could he have imagined adding two bats and two arms this offseason. I think this guy deserves a ton of credit. Every player that's come here this year has just raved about how he dealed with them and how they we're treated.
I could've never predicted that the Jays would come out of this offseason with BJ Ryan, AJ Burnett, Glaus, Overbay, and only losing Hudson Batista, Bush from the big league team.

There are also reports that Gibbons has asked JP specifically not to deal Shea. I'd like to see them find a way to keep him too. Dump Hinske though.

If they could keep Hillenbrand somehow, wow that would be awsome. Having him in the lineup would make Toronto that much better. If he stays Koskie's gone...I don't think Hinske will get moved but honestlly contract aside he's a decent player

I don't think Hinske is decent. He's below average at best. Poor defense, poor BA, strikes out a ton, marginal power.
He hustles, but thats about it IMO.

I don't think 15 Homers and 69 rbi's is that bad for a bench player. I mean I know the BA is low but for a team that lacks power having a guy like him coming off the bench isn't that bad in my mind

Absolutely. As a bench player I'd take him over most. But from the way JP spoke about him today, it sounds like he plans on Eric having more than just a bench role. As an everyday player, I don't want him on the team.

I agree there. But I'm just to happy with JP to even argue a comment.
Speaking of which today when asked in regards to where he'd play Glaus in the lineup he mentioned how he'd like him in the 4 spott to really help Hillenrband/Overbay respectively. No mention of Koskie in the lineup

I still believe JP will try to trade Hinskie but his Contract makes it very difficult.
