Always been an issue as far as I know, then it was rumoured he negotiated more autonomy is his new contract then there was a rumour that that wasn't the case

Either way it really seems the directive from ownership right now is make the playoffs. Pretty hard for Treliving to do that while also being a deadline seller when in the first wildcard spot with a 3 point gap from 2nd in the division.

I'd love for Calgary to be sellers too but don't see how it's realistic. Again, the D injuries really screwed it

In the trade scenario where the flames are trying to trade for Kopitar, this is the time during which Tre is trying to convince Kopitar to waive his no move clause.

I thought Treliving's extension was all about finally giving him the autonomy to actually GM the team?

No, that was the previous extension.

Holy ####, so this is what extended-autonomy looks like?

Plus who knows what more autonomy means. It's become pretty clear that it's still far from full autonomy.

I think people's frustrations with Treliving are misdirected. Should be at meddling ownership

I love Kopitar. If you combined everything good about Backlund and Monahan and then made that player impossible to knock off the puck, this guy is what you'd have.

I find it interesting that the flames/leafs have been relatively quiet (completely mute in the flames case).

Wonder if there is anything stirring there?!

Yeah, I’m guilty of that.

BT probably wants to do more, but ownership has always been stingy with pay.

Could be. But didn't Sutter have a lot more autonomy? It didn't end well though

Doubt it. The Flames haven't acquired anyone of note at the deadline in 11 years.

It's painfully frustrating to be a fan of this team sometimes.

Palmieri / Hoffman are out there

Oilers make an aggressive move, a potential trigger point

This ain't over.

Likely but he also wasn't a very good GM

If we acquire Palmieri, I am 100% certain that we lose that deal.

Except that we're a cap-ceiling team, not a cap-floor team. A team with cheap ownership doesn't spend to the ceiling.

Pro rated it wouldn’t be 4.6. The 4.6 would be the contract amount for a player per se if we acquire a player.

The 3 million would be the cap space added as a result of the Frolik trade I presume.
