It's tough to treat grown ass men like children, but the Flames, in my opinion, need to consider doing the abnormal and flying into Vegas on game day, pre-season style. Some of these guys apparently don't have the maturity required to prepare properly for these games which is infuriating.

You look at a model professional like Marc Giordano and all he's gone through the past two decades to get to where he is today, the time he puts in in the gym and in the film room, and how he's ready to leave it all on the ice every single night, and it's depressing thinking some of these clowns can shamelessly walk into the dressing room as unprepared as they do in certain cities.

You have the entire summer, Christmas break, the bye week, and for all but one player the all-star break, to round up tha boyz and get in one in Vegas. You can't commit yourself to being a professional two or three nights a season? What a joke.

Some of our top players are basically handing free points to a divisional rival, and robbing our dedicated travelling fans of any opportunity to see a win (correct - nobody is forced to go, and it's still an awesome time). I've been dumb enough to go to three games in Vegas and it's pathetic watching the effort level of some of our team in that building and looking at them doubled over on the bench after each uninspiring shift.

They played on a team that had an oiler on it and caught oileritis

So, it's a "Dry Island" situation like in Philly with Carter/Richards?

Good to see people are finally coming around to this.

I call bs. That is not the problem. Boy those Pens were such a physical juggernaught when they won their cups, so intimidating! If that was the case the team would not have won 50 games last year. The team is missing a top 6 winger and a top 2 C. Fill those and the dynamics greatly change.

Yeah man. Crosby is soft like Monahan.

Nothing is guaranteed except for death, taxes and mediocre Calgary Flames teams.

Dude there are a lot of pages, but is there something in them to support this or are you throwing poop at the wall?

They need to bring back purple gatorade on that very next top line goal and keep that #### going. That's what having fun is about. And yeah posters are right that you dont see the same camaraderie between those guys that you once did.

It's a fun-free vaccum on the bench this season and thats got to change. Maybe more professionalism and preparation is needed but the fun part of the game also needs some rekindling.

I am asking a question. There are a lot of rumours that don't get reported on here. I have no idea. Can this be a problem if true? I have no idea. Something is off.

In a context I understand, it's like a marrige went bad and the friends of the couple are split up. Like something happened to the Gaudreau/Monahan marriage last FEB and since then Monahan can't shoot, Gaudreau is out of sorts, and the rest of the team is disjointed. Sounds stupid, but what it looks like from the outside.

I don't get the negatives about Monahan. Yes, he's not been scoring but at least he plays both ends of the ice. Lindholm works his butt off too. Gaudreau is the weak link, especially in our zone. If you don't trade him, then put him on a line that can fill in for his defensive liabilities. Hell, put him at centre with two strong wingers. He's all over the ice in the offensive zone anyway.

You want to put Gaudreau (the weakest defensive player) at centre, the most defensively responsible position?

Well no one seems to give Monahan credit for his efforts in our zone. We expect him to be there to support Gaudeau offensively but fail to notice that he's the first one back. Make Gaudreau responsible for that. Maybe he'd learn to contribute defensively instead of playing on only 2/3 of the ice. The play continually dies on his stick. I'm tired of hearing about his lack of confidence. The way I see it, he's not a team player. He's all about Johnny. I'm not advocating we trade him for a centre. I'm sure that we could deal him for an improvement on the left side. Heck maybe even an improvement on the right side too. Unlike many of you, I haven't been a fan of his since the get go.

And poor Lindholm is the child caught between parents.
MOD EDIT: NO!

Well at least he looks like he is agitated by the poor play and losing. If anyone has merit to say this, Tkachuk certainly does. He's been one of maybe 2-3 guys who has brought it every night this year.

Guys like Monahan, Gaudreau should be ashamed of themselves for allowing the season to go down as it has. It's one thing to lose, but entirely different to do so with such lackluster efforts game in and game out. Worse yet, this isn't an outlier. These guys have all done this before with different coaching staffs, different teammates.
