As soon as Gaudreau senses someone on him he essentially just goes limp and let's the opposition have the puck. And Monahan at 6ft 2 200 pounds is a wimp as well. Not once does he drive a shift of make a physical play. Gaudreau and Monahan both just feast off weak teams to get their points and do a disappearing act against any serious competition.

I'm sorry but thats just 💯 plain unacceptable at the NHL level. If we have another playoff performance where the both of them are made to be completely neutralized then we seriously need to think about trading for players who can and will take contact and actually force their way to the net. Even if that means slightly less skilled guys but who are more complete players.

This team simply doesn't have enough power forwards and that is why they are struggling right now.

I'm actually a Flames fan I'm just not afraid to call it how it is. Sure he's close to 100 points but he gets those against easier opposition as soon as he's playing against any physical playoff team he becomes useless both of them do and in the playoffs they get exposed. Last playoffs Gaudreau was held scoreless and each and every season after the all star break when the games become tighter Gaudreau completely stops scoring. The same thing happened last season he was on pace for 100 points then but then was stuck at 80 points as soon as the game became tough. Seriously his production in the final 20 games of this and last season is awful.

Go look it up. I want a guy who's always effective not just effective against weak teams

He has room to improve in important games for sure. Still a key player on the team, and the biggest offensive driver.

He can’t be more physical, he’s too small. That’s first day physics. He doesn’t need to be to be effective though.

The great thing about Gaudreau is he can get 3-5 points in any one of those games.

You should petition the NHL to make those half points against non-playoff teams.

To me this is the biggest issue. Makes it really tough to win the low scoring tight games when your powerplay can't score.

What's your point here. Being able to score against non playoff competition doesn't necessarily mean #### if you can't reproduce that production in the games that actually matter against actual playoff level teams. Regular season means #### all other than punching your ticket to the playoffs but if you don't have personnel who are capable of performing in tight checking games then youre screwed.

That's the point I'm making here both Johnny and Monny do not have the physicality and tenacity to succeed in the most important games. Sorry but until they prove otherwise that's gonna be my opinion

Gaudreau had 2 points in 4 games in his last playoff series (not great, but not zero as you claimed.)
