Maybe save your hatred for actual monsters instead of trying to justify ruining a 16 year olds life over nothing?

Video proof is going to play poorly for both sides of this argument IMO, as the video is inconclusive in some regards. Framing will determine what the argument is, and framing will establish the traction with a jury. Who can best frame their video to establish a sound narrative will win this. I'm hoping a judge will look at this and just throw it out of court and

Let's be honest here. The "kid" is an attention whore who is doing Trump's work for him. Plain and simple. Attacking the media? Check. $250M? The kid won't earn that is multiple life times. Does the term frivolous law suit mean anything? IMO the school should be answering a lot of questions here. What were they doing sending a bunch of minors to a pro-life rally? I've yet to see that question answered. I'm also curious why a bunch of kids (your term not mine) at a school sponsored event were wearing MAGA wear? Not appropriate and the school should answer for this. Where were the chaperones and why did they not intervene? If the kid wants a pound of flesh, he should be looking closer to home. Libel is a very difficult thing to prove and the media has protections against #### like this. It is going to be very hard to prove intent, and it will even become harder once the investigators start digging into the lives of these "kids" and find every dirty little secret they, and their parents, have to hide. This is noise.

The kid had two options, let himself be a target for the outrage machine and have that loom over him for the rest of his life, or sue the lying liars who wanted to ruin his life into oblivion. Which would you pick?

MAGA kid definitely needs to be moved to a different post. We have the Trump administration actively betraying US interests, completely surrendering foreign policy to Russia and giving away nuclear tech to the Saudis and some people feel it necessary to post pages of indignant posts for a possible misframing of the situation of one kid.

Option 3: Don't go on a "school trip" to protest a woman's right to choose in the first place

You forgot to mention creating a fake national emergency so he can build a monument to stupidity, ignorance, and hate.

Every 16 year old gets fed bad ideas from the circumstances they find themselves stuck in, none of them deserve to be crucified for it.

For the most part, in our society this benefit of the doubt only applies to middle and upper class white kids.

What a garbage post. And totally ironic since this kid was crucified with no benefit of the doubt.

It's a legitimate viewpoint despite your personal opinion.

See, and that is just it. 16 year old kids make mistakes and things blow over. If the kid had just moved on, and not elected to become some type of Trumpian martyr, this would have blown over and he could have gotten on with his life of being a pretentious spoiled ######bag, like most prep school kids are. By time he graduated and moved on to college people would have forgotten who the hell he was or what he was a part of. Pushing the issue just makes sure he will remain in the spotlight and become a target. If he gets crucified it's because he carried the cross, the nails and the hammer up the hill all by himself.

I did say "for the most part". Is that not the truth if you want to be completely honest about the racism that still plagues us? Why do people want to pretend like it's gone away?

Blaming the victim here because he's trying to take the only legal steps he has...Poor kid.
Anyways, that lawyer he got isn't just some random sleazy ambulance chaser.
Wood has had numerous notable clients. He was the lead attorney against DaVita that reached a settlement...of half a billion dollars.

More recently he reached an undisclosed settlement for his client, Burke Ramsay, with CBS for implicating him in the murder of his sister Jonbenet.
Here's what Washington Post said about him when he was retained by presidential hopeful Herman Cain:

So not just some random sleazy ambulance chaser, but the sleaziest?
I am sure this kid loves the attention. He seems to have a martyr complex.
And for libel, don't you actually have to prove that you suffered financial damages to be awarded anything? Or is that just in Canada?

His face was plastered on every media outlet, scores of celebrities were villifying him, people are openly calling for death and violence against him, for the rest of his life when someone googles his name they will be greeted with page after page of hate. This is the digital age, that stuff doesn't fade away. You just want him to eat that #### with a smile? Nah, it's time to get paid.

Yeah, it does. The attention span of people is fleeting. SEO will make this kid fade into the noise. This kid is a no body and this is a nothing issue that will quickly fade into obscurity. The only way this stays relevant is if the kid works to make it stay relevant.

I really don't care about him. If his face were on fire I would cross the street to piss on him to put the flames out. I just find it terribly entertaining to watch the fools trip all over themselves defending this obnoxious little puke, when this kid wouldn't waste any energy to do anything for anyone else or that did not forward his own personal interests.
This kid is going to have a hard time getting paid, because the onus is on him to prove that his earning potential was damaged in any way. He has to prove damages, and a 16 year old prep school darling is going to have a pretty hard time doing that. The kid already has the world at his feet. This level of infamy is only going to make him more popular with the fraternities at the Ivy League and afford him more opportunities. This isn't going to hurt him in any way, unless he loses and loses hard. Frankly, he's risking more by keeping this charade going.
