I’m sorry I’m probably one of the annoying posters on your list. That said I don’t think we should lynch a new player on day 1. If a new player is in the trolls it will become obvious in time.
Also hang in there the game makes more sense on day 2.

Curious to this statement from GGG. Yes, it would suck on a personal level to be a new player and get banned on the first day, but the reality is that two people are going to be banned on the first day - one through our voting and one through the night phase.
The blanket statement "don't ban a new player on day 1" just seems a bit off. Good Oiler play would be to get more experienced players out first who might start to recognize patters or styles of play. We only have so many chances to get Oilers, so cutting out a group of people for a possible ban on day 1 just doesn't make sense. I know there is not a lot to go on during the first day, but telling everyone "leave the new people around" just sounds scummy.
GGG - is there any real reason for this statement? Your comment that a new player in the trolls will become obvious in time really has no substance to it. Maybe some of the new players end up being the strongest ones - it's impossible to know at this point.

I still don't think it is scorn, and it is just him taking the game a bit too personally.
Has any other previous players changed their posting styles from previous games?

I'm confused, can someone explain this? I know the night phase starts after 10pm Thursday, and it goes for roughly 24 hours. We do one banning on or before 10pm, and we can't post during the night phase, that's all I understand. How does someone get banned then?

It could be. Day 1 is all speculation and straw grasping.
You mentioned how all Flames fans received the same message in their PMs pretty matter-of-factly, which seems like you could discuss what was exactly said in your PM with other players and confirm they were all alike, then when the same thing is brought up in this thread you could easily deduce everyone got matching statements.
Just struck me as odd is all.

I gave my reasoning when Hockey asked, and now suspect I'd been baited by him and GGG. Like I said, seemed like the plan was to get someone to 5 so I went with it and tried to do it in a way that seemed more apt for the script. But the immersion's broken at this point, so meh, kill me

^Mrkajz, I have to say I agree on that statement. There has to be further reasoning to not Lynch/ban a new player other than them being simply "new".
For me personally,
Fuzz - His questions were too newbie. He could have asked them easily in the mafia forum, but he asked them here. He could have been playing us the whole time. So far I don't think so, and I think he is town.
WinnipegFan - I don't get the general vibe of him being a mafia, so leaning towards town for now. I voted for him, as stated previously, to get him to contribute. He did so and I removed my vote once he did.
Scorn - His posts come out a bit too defensive. I would think for a newbie, the other mafia might be coaching him to take it easy and not get too defensive, but since he has continued to be a bit aggressive, I'm leaning towards town again.
Bonded - I'm not sure about him yet. His vote just seems to be piling on to your vote which can be a newbie ploy but can also be a mafia ploy.

we need 5 at the deadline, which is still a long way to go. There's no rush at all, don't pile on because of that.

What do you mean? Reading MrKajz post it seems like the first person probably isn't mafia but after that I don't think order would really matter.
I still think scorn is new and as lost as I am and getting frustrated. That left dissentower and agulati. Agulati seems to be trying direct people more than dissentower. Not much to go on but first vote seems hard.

Exactly, but having not played before I bought into GGG's insistance of voting early to build a history and not wasting a ban

Ah, so they get to chat in their private forum, and kill one Flames fan...ok, got it. Sorry, I read the first few posts a few times but didn't pick up on that.

I deduced that because it was made clear by Oling that we could discuss our original PM's. Then a couple posters started throwing out the details of the Flames PM like they were using that to identify themselves as Flames fans. I know I am a Flames fan and got that PM but why would a Flames fan try and use that content as a hint they are actually a Flames fan when our games master stated we could talk about our PM's? If we can talk about our PM's doesn't it make sense the Oiler fans know what they are to blend in? They have a proxy fan that has a Calgary IP so maybe he intercepted that PM as he is tech savvy and shared it with his Greaser buddies. I think either way they had to be privy to that knowledge. So I found it suspicious that someone would try and tout the initial PM as a tip off they are a Flames fan and not mullet wearing greasebag.

Has SebC mentioned a reasoning for their vote for scornfire? I can't seem to find it in the posts.

So if we get to 8 votes on one person does that start the night phase immediately? I am confused on what the hammer is.

Not that I can see, and for some reason GGG/HG didn't question it at all while questioning more or less every other vote. Seb originally voted for GGG, GGG originally voted Hockey and Hockey originally voted me

Just wondering I am baiting you?
I originally voted for you because you hadn't posted. I left it on you until I could get a better read on you after you became more active. Then you hopped on a vote train with no explaination, so I continued to leave it on you.

For me the difference between you and Seb was that you were joining in on a vote that had momentum. Seb went off the board with you.
Also from previous games Seb doesn't give out much info, so that also played into my mind a bit.

My presumption atm based on the degree to which my toast burned this morning, is that you and GGG at the very least are part of the troll patrol, ie. I got baited by the Troll team into making myself an easy target, not anything specifically that you posted, morseo GGG's "advice" and the fact you both seem to be overtly trying to advance a Flames fan strategy while casting aspersions on everybody else and protecting newcomers who will be far less useful in advancing towards a Flames fan victory
Again, I eat paint
