That was the best Flames game in ages! A complete 180 from the team of the past 2 years.

Ah so the answer is no, you cannot read. Moving on now... You are clearly a person who when proven incorrect stubbornly keeps going. Let's talk hockey instrad huh? Can we?

I can’t. Sometimes people call me mean words because of it. Offensive, dated words.

Exactly this, it’s a mild deterrent at best for the other team as plays will happen, even dirty ones. However for anyone that has ever played the game on a semi serious higher level knows having a person like that on the team gives a level of comfort and confidence. The coach just has to know when to limit and increase their icetime as long as it’s not hurting the team. Hence not a goon but someone that can skate and take a shift.

I get that argument. I just don't think it's true. It's unprovable either way, I guess. I think that if you have, say Jankowski in (and he plays at least as well as Peluso of course) this game ends up the same. For example, I don't believe that Gaudreau played differently because Peluso was in. Like I said, I can't prove that, but at the same time, the opposite can't be proven either.

Is it safe to say that Brodie is back? It seems like a fully functional Brodie is so much better than Hamilton. Plus we upgrade on offence with Lindholm. I am loving that trade so far.
My only complaint is that guys like Backlund, Bennett, etc... Need to get going on the score board.

That fact Renaldo tried to take no liberties makes me think Peluso was a deterrent.

Feel like I should be taking bets on who will give up first - Gio or Diss....
I'm betting on Dissentowner but I think it's close.

Team speed
Work ethic and playing hard for the entire 60 minutes
Everyone playing to their role
Peluso had by far the lowest ice time of anyone on the team. If you really think that the player with 5:16 in ice time, with no points, shots on goal, hits, PIMs, or any other measurable impact on the game was the REASON the Flames won tonight? I don't know how to have a rational conversation with you.

Nobody said he's the reason they won. Scoring more goals was the reason they won.

I will always respect others take on this GioforPM but I’m curious have you ever played the game on a higher level where you’re able to claim what players on a team think or how they react to such a player on the bench? A player who is tough and able to stand up for a team. Perhaps you have, but I’m just asking. As I know from my direct experience playing it did. I mean playing with more confidence and comfort knowing the player was there.

Well, having more one scoring line, often nights 2/3 of a scoring line, and then hoping Tkachuk can pull his two linemates along, made game planning for the Flames easy.
Now with a refreshed Backlund(who has some challenge for centre time, and who always plays well first year of a new coach) and guys like Czar, Bennett, and Neal, who is yet to get going, and a newly mobile defense, you can’t stick with shutting down JG and SM like you could for long stretches last year and hope (or, from the opponent level, force) someone else to step up to score.
