Nice to see the good guys win and get their powerplay going. I really liked Lindholm's game winning goal, that was a beautiful shot.

The Canucks have a really good player in Petterson, wow, he's very impressive. However if I am the Canucks I would be a little concerned about Boeser. I know it's only two games but he has been completely invisible for both games, and -4.

I think Mike Smith's glove save on Goldobin was huge and hopefully gives the guy some confidence, because that Sutter SHG was pretty bad.

Anyways! Great to see the good guys win in those gorgeous jerseys.

Are you sure? Ryan’s stick is in line with the goalie’s head in your stills, and I think it is the whole leg that Markstrom was objecting to, not below the knee

Ah well. Honestly not a surprise anyway. Also not nearly as bad as the assheads on the radio in the morning that try their hardest to be the first one ruin every sporting event and every TV show episode from the night before and proud of it.

The Flames scored 2 empty netters in this game. That's 40% of their total for the entire season last year.

Hrudey had a great segment during the leafs game about goalie equipment adjustments. There is noticeably more space under the arm and over the shoulder. I can't unsee this now that Hrudey pointed it out and last night there were probably 3-4 goals scored in those spots.

I am sure the goalies will adjust, but for the first couple of weeks it will be nice to see goalies having to make skill saves instead of equipment saves.

Also, how refreshing is it that someone provides a tangible tidbit of in depth game observations as opposed to the re-hashing of overused cliches and opinions. Well done Kelly!

Anyway, aside from Smith, it was nice to see that any mistakes made last night were those of being aggressive. The team spent the entire night pushing forward. And it's so refreshing to see a breakout that doesn't take all night to get set up.

Gaudreau decided in the third that there was no way the Flames were going to lose, and that there was nothing Vancouver could do to stop him.

1. Powerplay looked much better last night
2. The offence looks good.
3. The defensive coverage needs work.
4. Smith almost lost us the game.
5. Bennett and Jankowski looked decent. I hope they can continue their play and earn themselves more icetime.
6. When the Oilers and Canucks play will the Sportsnet/CBC crew even be able to complete the broadcast or will they be too busy stroking each other off at McDavid and Pettersson. Yes the kid is good, but my god that was embarrassing and cringe worthy.

Playing with Stone is tough for anyone, but I think Noah will eventually adjust to his new reality.

Top line looked great tonight, I would love to see Neal with Janki and Bennett for a couple games. Ryan is just not a guy you want playing with offensively gifted players or on the pp. he is a replacement level 4th liner.

Yeah, it looked like Ryan's stick was definitely involved in helping push the leg back from the knee before the shot went in.

Why was Prout the lone defender out on the 5 on 3 for the Canucks? The guy was really struggling all night with his defensive zone coverage. Not exactly sure why Peters had that much confidence in him.

Wake up this morning to even hear TSN calling Elias Pettersson the Calder and even Hart early candidate. Made me switch the channel - almost barfed. Kid is good but wow, treating him like the second coming of Gretzky and his parents were shown more than Will and Kate sitting in a a Royal Booth.

-1st line was top class
-Dube, Ryan, and Neal haven't been jiving. Give them more time to sort out the kinks
-Defensive lapses throughout the game
-Very unimpressed with Prout. Reminds me of Engelland without much of the grit or passion
-Smith won the 3rd
-Matthew Tkachuk is already an amazing player and had a hell of a game. Love seeing him on the powerplay with all the big guns last night. Going to cost us a fortune to sign which is a great thing

I know it's only 2 games but nice to see Tkachuk tied for the league lead in points with 5 in 2 games.
