Hopefully the new coach uses training camp properly unlike GG using it purely as auditions until the home opener

Well, you can't say the Flames aren't trying. Taking plenty of shots as usual, but they either miss the net, or end up in a pile of skates.

I mean these are the types of games you wish the highest pick in franchise history would do something, the guy we paid a first and two seconds would do something, the guy who just got a $5.3 million extension would do something. God what an awful end to an awful season
Losing Tkachuk sucked all the offense out of Backlund. Maybe Backlund carries the line defensively but Tkachuk is the one who stirs the drink. Both Frolik and Backlund look like 3rd or 4th liners without him.

They lack creativity. The play book seems really limited, which is probably because Gulutzan has only had them practice these same plays that don't work. I've seen the same perimeter plays repeatedly. There aren't any surprises in how they attack.
