Has Calgary had a shot in the last 10 minutes?

This game is why I am in the anti-Gully group.
The Habs very clearly have our breakout/neutral zone transition scouted and their counter is effectively neutering the entire team. No back up plan, no plan to counteract it. Just play the system - relentlessly. Execution looks as bad as it does because the Habs are in the right positions through scouting and preparation.
Pisses me off that we’ve seen exactly this happen numerous times this year.
Our breakout is predictable and slow.

I know it's probably not his fault, but our breakouts have looked real good for a couple weeks. We get Bart back in there and it kinda looks like the start of the season. I agree with the swap of Johnny and Sam, it will most likely end up with a goal by the end. Gully making adjustments that he wouldn't of made a month ago. I think he should put in Rittich for the third too. Give him some home ice work. The team seems to score more with him back there. Smith has been great, just looking for a rally cap move.

I just don't understand how you can correlate inconsistency in focus and effort to poor coaching. When the flames play hard they have success, when they don't they look terrible, I can't see how coaching or systems are causing this.

What a snooooozer. Like most Flames games, I guess. Just vapid systematic hockey. It's okay when it wins games and we get to see some individual flashes of excitement in goals, but what an absolute bore when their not.

Team preparation and motivation is most certainly affected by coaching, how could you think it wasn't?

Exactly.
How is that a systematic issue?

At the game. Was so excited to bring my nephew. Flames are making the Habs look like SC champs. Flanes look like they have dull skates. Bad game for the home team. Really bad game in person. So disappointed.

Because the system is easy for the Habs to counter tonight and we're typically inflexible to adapt when the other team counters it.

I don’t see that at all. I see a team that is severely lacking execution through their own piss poor effort. Telegraphing passes, no stick to stick passes, zero effort on the forecheck, lazy plays, etc. The whole roster (sans the 3rd line) needs to wake the #### up!!!

The Oilers will be 3 points behind the Flames tomorrow! Honestly the Flames should be 15-20 points ahead of them.

I'd be pretty pissed if I had spent any money to go and watch a heartless and pathetic effort like they're displaying tonight.
Just terrible and embarrassing.

I agree that lack of effort isn't on the coaches. But is it a lack of effort?
TO me, they are being bottled up in their own zone, and being smothered int the neutral zone. Same thing over ans over. That's coaching.
IMO, it is a little of both.
