Gulutzan said he could easily start in the NHL. It will be up to Foo and how he performs in camp. Lots of guys who play their full career in college can make the jump immediately.
I wouldn't pencil him in but at the same time I don't think we can rule him out

What? That's not what I said. You made a definitive statement and I thought I had missed something with Foo being told he's being started in the AHL.
And to answer your question that I didn't say, I have no idea how good Foo is since I've never watched him play and am not about to say he will be taking anyone's spot but it's not like he has heavy competition in the bottom 6 where he can't take someone's spot.

There are two spots available at the moment and Hamilton is the only incumbent. Jankowski is the only prospect that's clearly ahead of Foo, otherwise he's in the mix. I expect he will start in the AHL but I don't share your certainty.
