I believe him. Did you see the new arena plan? Took them 10 years to come up with something a first year arts student could finish in 3 days.

Oh the irony if we were to win it all and Doan was part of it. I would feel terrible for Jerome.

Worst case scenario for me. Extremely overrated and I absolutely hate Doan.

Good lord. Please no.

Doan doesn't have a couple years left at 40, Marleau on the other hand is 37 and could conceivably have a few miles left on the tread.

Doan does make sense based on the story Treliving told. He did imply thenplayer likely has his pick of teams and I am not so sure Doan fits that description anymore.

Holding out unrealistic hopes it is Radulov and the opportunity to play with Monahan and Gaudreau is too tempting.

Flames likely have to dump Stajan to make a $6M cap hit work.

Marleau score close to 30 goals last year. Skates well too. If we're signing an older guy, he'd be a fine choice.

Agreed if we go 35+ that is the guy. He would fit well with any of our top 3 centre's.

I like the thought of Marleau or Iginla in our forward group.

Could it be Patrick Sharp? The same guy who mentioned the Flames have interest in Marleau, also mentioned a possibility with Sharp. With the way things have gone, it probably ends up being Doan or Vrbata. Treliving likes his ex-coyotes. Don Maloney, Michael Stone, Mike Smith..

If we sign one of these players though, it probably points towards Versteeg not coming back.

Marleau is quoted saying he feels he has five years left. Doesn't sound like a guy with one foot in retirement.

Great. I didn't miss it then. So, let's be clear the UFA that called Brad indicated he was really interested in a few teams, including the Flames that he identified as up and comers. There was no mention of retiring if he couldn't find interest from those teams.

That opens this up to the entire crop of free agents really. We're not just talking about someone looking at one last hurrah necessarily. This could go well beyond Doan, Iggy or Marleau.

How about neither? I hope the Flames don't waste a spot on another marginal player. Top 6 or nothing.

Sorry I missed something. Who said we actually have interest in Sharp and Marleau?

Four beautiful goals, four different ways. And this was in 2017. He looks like he still has some gas in the tank and would be huge come playoffs.

He is still an elite skater in the NHL who is skilled, durable and strong at 220 lbs.

His speed separates him from the other older guys.

Just say no to Doan and Iggy. Yes to either Williams or Marleau on a 1 or 2 year deal.

I just don't see a scenario where Thornton and Marleau don't take pennies to stay in San Jose... with Burns, Couture, Pavelski, Jones...

Also a brutal, brutal turnover at 2:30 that ends up in the back of the net.
