Going to suck losing Stone, guy was the ideal #4. Hopefully nothing too serious and he can return for the playoffs.

I think the team thinks more of Kulak than the other two. He's been given a number of tastes and I wouldn't be overly shocked if he did get another contract.

Engelland gets the 2nd pair slot until andersson gets his feet wet. Engellend Brodie got us to the playoffs last time this happened so they can do it again.

News UpdatePat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
No update on Hamilton or Stone from Gulutzan. Being evaluated currently. Says he's hopeful on both fronts, though. #Flames
Derek Wills @Fan960Wills
#Flames Dougie Hamilton and Michael Stone are being looked at now. Glen Gulutzan hopes one "will play tomorrow", the other "will play soon".

Man, just when I thought I couldn't get any more excited about our season. I'd love to see Andersson get the call.

I seriously doubt Andersson (if he dresses) will get more than sheltered minutes. Flames really have never thrown prospects into the deep end. Especially one in his first year pro and first NHL game.

They'd play it safe. If they call up Andersson they'll (hopefully) call him up to play... if they just wanted a warm body they'd call up Kostka. I still hope that Stone get's well relatively quickly he's stabilized that 2nd pairing in a way that Engellend hasn't been able to anytime he's gotten those minutes.

Yeah, I don't think there is any way Andersson would be thrust into top-four mins in his first ever NHL game, and in the heat of a sizzling playoff drive. Engelland with Brodie for a few games is a fine idea, and it lets Andersson ease his way into the lineup.

Jermain Franklin @TSNJFranklin
Gulutzan said updates on both Stone and D Hamilton will come in the afternoon but he is optimistic that they will be short term #Flames
Jermain Franklin @TSNJFranklin
Gulutzan is hopefull that one of Hamilton or Stone will play in Winnipeg... he didn't specify but the safe bet is he's referring to Dougie

Hopefully Hamilton is back tomorrow and Stone is only a couple weeks away. I think this team can hold the fort if that's the case. Even if they revert to .500 for a couple weeks that should be good enough to keep them in it.

An upside of the win streak is that we're not absolutely desperate to bring guys back. If either guy has an injury that would benefit from a game off, I hope they get it.

This sounds encouraging, relative to what the worst case scenario could have been.Guess we will have to see what kind of update the Flames provide later this afternoon.

Long-term, it's probably most valuable for the Flames to gauge where Andersson is before this year's out so they can make some personnel decisions. Having an eight point buffer on LA gives them that luxury right now.

I was looking at his injuries this year and Stone missed 6 games after this hit by Schenn. Went on IR with UBI.
https://twitter.com/myregularface/st...18526881382400
Looking at the shift chart it look like he didn't play another shift after it (according to the game story Chychrun fought Schenn. May re-aggravated something. That is my 2 cents after spinning the wheel on CP speculate.

If they go .500 the rest of the way, they have a 99% chance of making the playoffs.

Glad both injuries are minor. Both are so critical to this run.
Andersson has been great in Stockton. Well deserved if true.
