Yeah he's a great guy.
Don't think it was charity, I think it was competitive ball hockey. He sure did rearrange someone's face though with his stick. Such an outstanding member of the community.

That doesn't mean it is not a good idea to expose Burrows in the expansion draft. If it saves the Senators from exposing a better player, then that is a positive result. It was still far too high a price to pay for Burrows, though.

I'd like to know where this "respected in the locker room" stuff is coming. I've always heard both the Canucks management and their players didn't like Lapierre and Burrow's actions at all. Were sick of the spectacle they were putting on, and really sick of fighting their battles for them. I thought management even stepped in and told them enough is enough at one point.

There was also the time that Kesler and Burrows decided to thrash talk David Backes Wife and suggest they'd be over to pay her a "visit" later.

I doubt there's a player in the league in the past decade not named Sean Avery that have the track record of Burrows and at least Avery would fight his own battles. Digging pretty deep to bring stuff up, give me a break.

The expansion rules say you must expose 2 forwards with the following requirements:

https://www.nhl.com/news/nhl-expansi...es/c-281010592
That actually makes a ton of sense. I was wondering why Ottawa would immediately extend him, but needing to expose another player in the draft would totally fit the bill for why they'd do that.

What the hell is "competitive" ball hockey. By definition all ball hockey is recreational, regardless of what any ball hockey hero may try to tell you.

There's actually like World Championships and stuff like that for Ball Hockey. I believe this was a pretty elite event he smashed the guys face in. Not saying it's an excuse, and clearly I dislike Burrows, but I don't think he bashed some random kids face in.

Ive never understood all the Burrows jerseys you would see at the Saddledome for Canucks games. You can choose anyone, and this little puke is your choice? I comfort myself that they just don’t follow the game outside of watching an odd game, or they are trolls.

Best of luck to @aburr14. When you play w/ him you easily understand how he carved out his NHL career. He is a great teammate & competitor.
Ryan Miller's twitter must have been hacked. Didn't think Burrows was liked at all in the room

How is ball hockey any different than ice hockey? Of course ball hockey can be competitive.

Well that makes all his past actions that much better.

Totally understand now how you have blinders on, look past it and were proud to cheer for him.

Wow a teammate wishing a fellow teammate good luck? He must be the pope.

Not to mention a teammate that is also known as a notorious prick.

Probably if he was hated in the locker room they wouldn't tweet anything. No one forced Miller to say what he said, I imagine. None of us really know how he is regarded in the locker room...for all we know he is an awesome guy off the ice.

On the ice he is a complete d-bag, but that's his game...and he makes things interesting as a fan. Everyone needs a villain. I'm looking forward to the next Sens v. Leafs game even more now.

He got under players skins and was great at it, his troll game was one of the best. Sure he might have crossed the line, but bad things are said all the time on the ice. O'Sullivan just wishes he could have been half the NHLer Burrows came to be.

Glad he's out of division. Such a rat.

Wish he was out of the league.

Mocking child abuse "might" have crossed the line?

And now you're blaming the victim.

Great stuff. Seems like my assertion that you excusing / cheering for a vile human being reflects poorly on your character was way off base.

You are a perfect example of why a portion of the Canuck fan base is widely regarded as the worst in pro sports.

This goes beyond hockey. You can cheer for rats on your team. That's fine. I do it with Tkachuk, Oiler fans do it with Lucic, Bruins with Marchand etc. But when you start mocking some of the things Burrows has that crosses a line. He's a pile of trash. Quit defending this idiot, you look foolish. I've seen plenty of Canuck fans glad he's gone.

And seriously, what is Miller gonna do, tweet about how glad he is Burrows is gone?

Burrows is going to drag Ottawa down.... I'm sure their players are not too impressed ... In fact maybe that's why they are losing so far tonight lol
