In any case, hold them from here on out and he can still call it a good game.

See, I think the planning schedule was this all along for the tandem. Run Johnson lots in the first half of the season and save Elliott for the push. Somehow I'm convinced Elliott's best games are in the 30-50 mark so if my assumption is correct, hell be at his best from now u til the end of the season and through the playoffs if they get there.

Pretty good period. Flames started out really sluggish, but seemed to have woken up after they tied it. Panthers have come alive since that 2nd goal though. Barkov's line is gonna kill them if they don't tighten up defensively.

Johnson doesn't look sharp tonight.

Blaming Johnson for either goal is pretty misguided imo.

You can't let Barkov shoot uncontested from 10 feet. Monahan is automatic from there.

Also, holy crap Barkov, what a player. He's the kind of guy you build dynasties around.

This might be one of those games where both teams tighten up and we don't see any more goals until Flames put one in the empty net.

The shield/logo not fitting within the horizontal chest strip bothers me. Make the logo smaller or get rid of that strip all together like the backside.

Johnson's five hole was like 5 feet wide on that shot though. That's on him.

His shot with Flames players going to the net was even nicer. He could have curled and tried to find the late guy but he made the smart play and got the puck to the net not causing a turnover.

My god... Thank you for finally getting your glasses up on your nose proper again. Man... As a glasses wearer, I just wanted to reach thru the screen and slide em up his nose for him.

Yeah yeah I know how broken I am.

Agreed... Frolik? got absolutely suckered on that give and go, giving Barkov an open lane to the net...

Good player, but that play was a glaring defensive error....as opposed to Barkow doing anything special

Yeah, I'm a huge Barkov fan, but I still put him in that category of players that starts AFTER guys like Crosby, Kane, McDavid etc. He's a franchise center, but I'm not sure he's even a top 10 forward in the league.

However, I've always said that he reminds me of a more skilled/offensive Kopitar, and that IS the kind of player you win multiple cups with. Still work to be done on this Panthers team. They're a ways from serious cup contention, but some of the big pieces seem to be there.

Pat Steinberg ‏@Fan960Steinberg
No answers for the 3M Line once again through one period. Zero offensive starts, tons of offensive zone time. #Flames

that's just crazy. They didn't have a single offensive starts yesterday either, right? Simply incredible.

He good until he misses 10 game segments with things like toothaches and hangnails. Made of glass.

Sometimes I feel bad when the Flames blow out an american team on the road cause it probably costs the game some potential fans but Florida is clearly a lost cause

Gio had to take that penalty.

What's with the odd-man chances all of a sudden?
