I think the difference is his motor. He used to be the hardest working guy on the ice, tenacious on the backxheck etc but doesn't seem like he is putting in the requisite effort to get the puck in advantageous situations.

Sorry to disagree with everyone but Hamilton is the DEFENSEMAN like the coaches want. He cruises in even though the forwards are ahead of him he should be backing off. The forwards should not cover for a dman that is behind them. Why does nobody see the mistakes that Hamilton makes. He is human just like Wideman, Gio and Brodie. I really wonder what Hamilton would be if he wasn't paired with Gio
