Are you kidding me? How about Versteeg's turnover just inside their blueline to set up the sequence where they tied it?
He's been garbage so far.
And god I am tired of weak angle shots missing the net to set up their breakout.

Yes they're playing like trash, but have proven themselves as NHL first line players. I'm sure you'll agree with me they can and will play much better? But Versteeg (and it's not his fault) is being asked to be something he isn't. He's not a 1st line RW.

Sam Bennett has been very disappointing so far. Play dying on his stick every time.

Flames are within a hair's width of the salary cap with core players locked up multiyear. They should be on the upswing towards contention.
This year's team is looking like a step backwards.

Obvious Gulutzan errors:
1 defensive pairings in game 1
2 pulling goalie too early in game 2
3 shootout selection in game 3
Not an NHL coach there BT.

Are you kidding me?
One mistake is worse than repeated mistakes over 3 games? Sean was equally as bad as Versteeg on the goal, he completely missed 2 wide open Canucks and didn't react whatsoever to the situation.

How much have you had to drink tonight? I'm guessing alcohol is clouding your judgement badly.

Yep very disappointing. And he looks lost defensively. He shouldn't be a Center and definitely not the second line center. Play him on the wing with Backlund and let him learn his positioning as a Center because he's been terrible positional wise.
Him and Tkachuk have been caught in deep way too many times.

Flames lose third straight. Canucks 2, Flames 1 (SO)
Bob should've gotten another year with competent goaltending. I feel like he was let go too soon just so Brad could have "his guy" and used the disappointing season (which was mainly due to shoddy goaltending) as an excuse to let Hartley go.

By the timw this team gets comfortable with the new system and it's new players the playoffs will be out of reach.
You can't expect stability when you keep changing coaches.

I think a lot of publications predicted that the Flames would improve a lot from last year.
Some of it depends on Bennett having a break-out year. Hopefully it doesn't happen too late.
It was sad to see a clear hole on first line RW like that. That's a straight-up team-building mistake. At that point Versteeg was probably the best option but it should not have happened.

A long enough time now? Three seasons ago we didn't have a first line centre, a second line centre, we had 1 top 6 winger at best.
Since that time we have either drafted, developed or acquired: 2 top 6 centres, 2 top 6 wingers, seem to have the makings of another top 6 winger in Tkachuck.
I agree we are missing a 1st line right wing. But 3 years ago this was a burnt to ground rebuild with maybe 1 legit top 6 forward on the roster. As it sits today there are at least 4, and they are doing it the right way. Did you really think it be that easy and quick to fill out the top 6 on a complete fresh start rebuild?

Shoddy goaltending and sone very uninspired road play, but I essentially agree with you otherwise.

There's no chemistry between Versteeg and his line mates. It was a desperation move by BT to find a winger for that line that doesn't look good so far. Further to that Versteeg has never been a top line winger and should be playing on the bottom 6 in a defensive role.

On a positive note, Kulak played a responsible 14 mins tonight, along with Jokipakka having a solid 2nd game in a row. There should be no reason that either of Wideman or Grossmann make it into the lineup next game.
