Not really. All cancers are biologically different and require different treatments and ultimately different cures. It is a catch all name for hundreds of different diseases that happen to be abnormal cell growth. For example, if one has prostate cancer that spreads to the bones you don't have prostate and bone cancer...you have prostate cancer that requires prostate cancer treatments. In addition in a cancer arising from a single cell type will be different. Prostate cancer example again...there are something like 7 different types and just in a single type you will vary in aggressiveness from disease to disease.
That isn't to mean research can't be helpful for multiple cancers but there is no single cure to be found. Different cancers need different lines of research and different levels of funding.
