This thread is 100% golden.

To recap, for those of you just joining us:

- Treliving "is slime"
- Treliving should be fired(!)
- We're all "little fascists"
- A "bingo ball problem" exists

Ah, discussion.

Irrational thread has a way of bringing out irrational people.

I mean, sure, the honeymoon period is over and Treliving can certainly have criticism thrown his way, but fire him? No freakin' way. Only thing he's done that I don't like in hindsight is signing Raymond. Other than that, this guy is great

I'm actually more surprised at this comment than any of the others in this thread. When I think of the Hamilton deal it brings a smile to my face. I don't see how it could be judged a mistake. Not yet at least.

Even the Boston Bruins are regretful over what they traded away. They've been on record expressing they would like a mulligan in the deal.

I didn't sift through the thread but I don't think so. The good he has done so far outweighs the bad, in particular in trades.

He (and the rest of management group) dropped the ball in dealing with the goaltending situation last year though.

How about everyone quits crying and being butthurt. Many posters are arguing like my 8 year old son. Grow up

Ok I read through the thread which was a mistake. Lots of posters really bent out of shape for some reason but I think it was a reasonable question.

It's not like the Flames are coming off a decent performance. Last year was downright horrific despite some individual players having career years. The Flames were pretty much neck and neck with the tanking teams for crying out loud. Totally unacceptable.

The coach just took the fall. But I think management shares some responsibility for last year's debacle too.

Why would he? Business is good for the Flames right now is it not? Good renewal rates despite a tough economy and re-building team.

Saddled the Flames with Backstrom? He had to take him on so the Wild would take Jones. Backstrom is a pending UFA, it was a nothing move.

I don't think Treliving is blameless for the failures of last season, but the positives far out weigh the negatives. That Brodie contract alone is a steal. Not to mention the Hamilton acquisition...

Besides, Murray Edwards is ultimately the guy responsible. We should fire him before we fire King before we fire Burke before we fire Treliving before we fire Hartley.
