T-mac couldn't get good efforts out of top players in San Jose and he can't get it in Edmonton. Me thinks a pattern is developing.
On top of it, he's cried about the lack of effort a lot in Edmonton this season, that's on him and on Chia. If it was once, drop the bomb, but after 80 games where they haven't gotten a good effort in probably 3/4 of the games, that's bad coaching and players tuning him out.

Thanks to everyone for suggesting the CHED feed. Gotta love this guy blaming the fans that pay tons of money to constantly watch a giant pile of turd floating around the ice every year.

"That's the exact attitude and bull#### we're trying to eliminate here." - Todd McLellan on the Oilers' attitude and bull####

While I applaud MacLellan's presser - and I applaud it LOUDLY - I can't but think that he is part of the problem, not the solution.
I mean, exactly how many times has he benched Eberle, Hall, etc., during games where they showed poor effort? How many times has he made one of the high-pedigree players (not counting Yakupov) a healthy scratch?
He hasn't made them accountable. It was a good speech, no question, but is it really any different than interviewing one of their players at the conclusion of yet another smelly turd of a game?

So I posted yesterday in the "April Fools" thread that it was my son in the video that kinda went viral on the Flames twitter/facebook page.
Quick recap: My wife and 6 year old son spent the morning pulling "April fools" jokes on each other.. then my wife told him that Johnny had asked for a trade... uh oh jokes over lol. He was devastated and burst into tears! Totally didn't think he'd take it that hard, lol.
Anyways, he eventually realized that it was a joke and after my wife managed to calm him down she tweeted the video at Johnny. He replied:
It went crazy from there. The video now has over 90k views and was on reddit, etc.
Flames staff contacted us when they found out we were going to be at the game tonight and hooked my son up big time. He got to meet Johnny after the game..chatted and got an autographed picture, and met a bunch of other Flames players/coaches. We also did an interview with Ryan Leslie/Flames TV!
What an unbelievable experience. The past 24 hours have been a whirlwind haha we were not prepared for any of this! I've got one ecstatic kid on my hands tonight who won't stop talking about how awesome Gaudreau is and how much he loves the Flames. As he puts it "THIS IS THE COOLEST THING THATS EVER HAPPENED TO ME!!!"
I don't watch a lot of Oilers games, but I can totally see why their record is worse with McDavid in the line up. Seems like the rest of the team just quits when he's on the ice, or they're freaked out about playing with him, and screw up passes from him. They always seem to miss the net when he sets them up.
Lol, maybe Katz gives McJesus preferential treatment, and the guys are annoyed by it. Who knows.
They could fix this in practice ... Oh, sorry - nhlpa day off

This is so awesome!! What a great thing for Johnny and the flames to do for a kid. It really is a dream come true for kids like this to experience meeting and interacting with their hockey heroes.
