The last three hours of golf were more exciting than the NFL action by far. Amazing win for Rory, even after blowing two chances to win it but coming up with the clutch par to force another playoff hole.

So, was that basically a $7M playoff between him and Moore?

That was a great afternoon of gold, way better than any NFL game could offer.
And not really, it was not really a $7 mil showdown between Rory and Moore which added to the drama. In effect it was two showdowns:
A $750k showdown between Rory and Moore. Winner took home $1.5 mil for winning, runner up tool home $750k as a second/third place split.
It was also a $10 mil showdown between Rory and Dustin Johnson despite him not winning. This was the FedEx Cup championship payout for the winner of the playoffs. Rory needed to win the tournament to win the playoffs, had Moore won the tournament then Dustin would have been the playoff champion.

So, so far we have:
- Westwood (lol) criticizing the USA's choice of vice captains,
- a player's brother trolling the opposing fans, and
- a player calling out his own captain from 12 years ago.
This thing needs to start immediately.

I believe Love also called the US the best team ever assembled. Not sure if Palmer's passing will have an effect, but the media will play it up that way.

If the US loses this Ryder Cup they should just change the format to Europe vs. the World so the US can snag Jason Day and a couple others. Europe's team is really weak.

It would be nice to find a way to include players of all nationalities into this tournament. North America vs. the world, U.S. vs. the World, Hemisphere vs Hemisphere etc. There are too many good golfers potentially being left out.

The Ryder Cup and quite likely the most popular, traditional and loved tournaments around (certainly in Europe). It is fine the way it is. Some years will not have the greatest teams, but the US losing 3 in a row contributes to the Ryder Cup narrative and story line, not diminishes it. They have the President's cup for the reasons cited above. If anything, maybe change the Presidents cup to between Europe vs. the world and US vs. the world.
I would like to suggest the P Cup be the Ryder Cup winner vs the world, but it probably should be the loser of the Ryder cup vs the world given that the world field is going to be the weakest of the 3 for some time.

Yeah I wasn't really serious about changing the format, it's just more of a shot at the US that if they can't win this one, they likely will never win another again. It'll just prove it means way more to the Europeans and that even a big talent gap won't matter much.

it's all about NBC ratings. They will milk the emotion of both Ryder and Presidents Cup

First match finished 12 holes of foursomes in 3 hours. And yes, they're on the clock although not sure what penalty would be.

The Americans look really fired up and maybe that has a lot to do with Arnold. 4-0 in the morning is impressive.

Last time the Americans led 4-0 was in 1975. Arnold's 1975 bag is on the first tee.
