Well for starters, I don't know too many women who would swoon over a guy conning random strangers on the internet to buy her an engagement ring.

I believe in the Pony Power
|
Well this certainly took some twists.
I'll share my thoughts
- When the original "homelessness" we did hear from some folks expressing concerns (including Pylon and MMF even though he was on his Jiri break). We couldn't prove if anything was fradulent but that is why the thread was removed. At the time PIMking claimed his g/f started the original gofundme.
- I believed at the time that he did legimately need help (I donated a small amount of money myself), now I'm not so sure
- We had no idea he was asking for money on other sites until now
- We've seen been keeping a close eye on him on this board, including when he started this thread. I was curious to see if it evolved to the point where he asked for more money (which we would not have allowed)
- I think it is a shame that it appears the genorisity of this community was taken advantage of - but I think folks should still be proud of how they tried to help someone who appeared to be in need. Moreover, it shouldn't demotivate people from helping people in the future if they think that's the right thing to do. We can help validate if something is legit or not but that is tricky territory as it really isn't the point of this site.
Anyways the whole thing is a damn shame. As I said, I figured he was desperate and desperate people do desperate things. But as we see him doing this elsewhere now - it causes me to question that.
But my main point is that those that donated should still feel proud of that act.

Title of this thread should be changed to "Ian Demler aka PIMKing is a con artist"
This will ensure google picks it up as a top search

Clint Harman was the name of a dude who faked getting robbed by teenagers in his wheelchair after withdrawing $1400 from a bank. His likely fabricated story made its way into the Calgary Sun. Afterwords gofundme accounts popped up for people to donate to him. Then CP sleuths started to find past instances where this guy tried to scam money.

For Christ's sake. People have no ethics, morals or decency.
I don't want to say it, but i envision myself having a hard time donating to stuff in the future. Like the case has to be bullet proof for me to pony up.

A thread title change might be a good idea to let people know they have been taken.

I gave a good chunk of money thinking I was making a difference in someones life and now I feel sick to my stomach. I don't have alot of money and it angers me that I got conned/suckered.
The voice in my head said this was one of those causes that a person should donate to and now i'm not so sure I can ever trust it again.
There's a special place in Hell for con artists like you Ian!
