The pundits were spot on, that was a thoroughly entertaining match. Arsenal started strong but I felt our sloppy passing along the backline brought Liverpool into the game. Although I thought our mistakes were creating chance for Liverpool, they were clicking as much as they have this season so fairplay. In the second half, I though we really took it by the scruff of the neck and a goal wouldn't have been undeserved. Nevertheless, it wouldn't have been a match we thoroughly deserved but a match I feel we need to win as that's what champions do.
Happy to get a cleansheet with a centreback pairing that left me in fear. Gabriel looked alright but Chambers really needs to improve his decision making when it comes to passing out.

Oh man, if Everton lose Stones they're screwed and if Chelsea land Stones they're going to be scary...

City spending that money. Not just throwing cash at old stars either, even guys in their prime. Young guys who should become superstars.

Heung-Min Son to Spurs should be announced tomorrow
can play anywhere behind the striker or wide and has pace, which has been desperately needed
still need another striker though

pretty much, at least that's what the reliable media in Germany thinks. Still some haggling going on, but I'd be shocked if it doesn't get done in time. It's a pity, de Bruyne is class and City already look scary. I never realized how much I enjoyed Financial Fair Play while it was in effect
and sorry Diane, but that Son transfer has to be the worst transfer of the summer in terms of cost/performance ratio ... brutal. Bellarabi would have been worth that money, but Son definitely not. Not a typical Pochettino player either - he's talented, but also a bit lazy and inconsistent. In Germany, they simply can't believe that a team would shell out that kind of money for Son ...

don't think he has the mentality
Quote:
The Belgian has complained about his treatment at Chelsea but Mourinho rejects that he was the reason for his failure to play a key role at the club. “That is unfair because I wanted to keep him,” said the Portuguese. “And he told me it was not in his personality to be competing for a position in the team. He needed a team where he knows he can play every game. He needs to know that he is important.
“He did not want a team where he thinks am I playing or not? He needs that trust, he needs that quality. He needs that security. So I was not happy when he left. So yes it’s not fair.”
Mourinho added: “He didn’t tell me he couldn’t handle the pressure. He told me he wanted to play every weekend. I told him this is Chelsea, you are very young, you have Eden Hazard, you have Mata, you have Willian, you have Schürrle, and I cannot promise you that.
“And the first game of the season against Hull City he played. For the second game against Manchester United, he played. The third game of the season was the Super Cup in Prague, I decided not to play him. For the fourth match, in the Premier League, he was on the bench. And he was not happy. He told me he was not happy.
“He was not training very well and he was saying: ‘I can’t give you more. This is just my way.’

he always did blame the Milan medicial staff for his injuries, and he hasn't been injured in 3 seasons since he moved to Brazil

Mark Ogden @MOgdenTelegraph
Mourinho making a worse start to a title defence than David Moyes at Man Utd. Still, early days...
yeah, but who's fault is it?

I'm done with Rodgers. We're 2-1-1, but haven't deserved a single win, while deserving the shellacking by West Ham today. Ugh.

I think once Sturridge comes back they look better
many said it when he was signed but Benteke just doesn't fit in this side, his quality means he will score, but he needs crosses and long balls. So right now everything is reliant on Coutinho to create
plus Lovren is just not very good

That goes without saying. Maybe everything will be different. But if we're reliant on a particular type of striker, why the hell did we purchase a different type of striker, considering Sturridge's frequency on the sidelines? Why is Lovren playing over Sakho? Why did Rodgers insist on a 3 man back-line when it has failed miserably? So many questions that I don't think have good answers.

Except he's been partying a lot in Brazil.
This would be a horrible signing for Spurs.

This looks like its a one-team League at the moment.
Liverpool look a shambles, Spurs are Spurs, Chelsea is faltering, United dont look great and Arsenal are looking just okay.
City might just run away with this.
