Let's hope it's not this long

Quote:
March 24, 1936: Detroit's Mud Bruneteau ends the longest Stanley Cup playoff game to date, scoring the game's only goal in a 1–0 victory over the Montreal Maroons. The goal comes 16:30 into the sixth overtime period for a total of 176:30 of game play. It is also the longest NHL ice hockey game ever played.

This is the 2nd game in a row, where, IMO, Toews is the one that is battling the puck...he has got to be better.

This game is now the 50th longest overtime game of all time.

I always thought you could deliberately angle your skate to score.

So just for the sake of discussion...

given your goalie played 5 periods of hockey, would you put in a fresh backup goalie?

That's my point. You can deflect it not put force into it

You can. It doesn't say anything about accidental. You can deflect it in full stop

Not always, but you can under the current enforcement standard.

Under the change they made this season, goals off skates are only disallowed if there is a "distinct kicking motion". As they've enforced it, that basically means as long as you keep your skate on the ice prior to making contact, it will be allowed.
