The reality of it is, there is always going to be lots on inappropriate behaviour in large mobs when alcohol is a factor. Hopefully with how much social media has advanced from 2004 women will think twice before they flash the mob. It will not take long before those pictures are being passed around the office or classrooms.

What a wonderful experience for young fans to stroll the Red Mile with their parents, soaking in a celebration of a Flames victory. That would be the memory of a lifetime.

Is it all about a drunken party or should it be a celebration for all fans to enjoy?

This is a problem with society and in one way or another, Willingly or not, we have all or will all support this kind of behavior. And in this case that is by simply being there.

Bottom line.
I'd suggest you get your head out of the sand but I think its embedded elsewhere.

Same thing if I heard a woman shouting "all men are #######s" -- ignore them. You're playing semantic games to avoid the reality that you might be a part of the problem.

If we lived in a world where white people existed in this country largely due to slavery, and where white people for hundreds of years were segregated and denied equal opportunity; or we lived in a world statistically and defacto run by women, where until recently men couldn't vote and were largely considered property, I would probably feel different.

Edit: and women were statistically bigger and more aggressive than men.

With all due respect: pull your head out of your ### before you do too much damage.

I didn't say you were. I was agreeing with his original statement. Doing so does not imply about me the things you suggested his statement implied about him.

I'm going to say that you're not going to convince the people watching the game in the bar district to not drink and party.

@polak, here's a word of advice: quit while you're ahead (you're not, but you can choose to believe you are).

You appear to be somewhat misguided, apparently living in the belief that it is your right to harass women, hit them up for sex at your will and that they are your plaything. Sound about right? Because that's what your posts seem to add up to.

That's not a thing.

There hasn't been a bar district since Electric Ave.

No, I was questioning what it was he wasn't opposed to, since what people in the thread weren't opposed to seemed to be groping and harassment. I wasn't implying anything about the poster (there's enough in his posting history to paint a pretty clear picture).

Jesus. Like I said, stupid article making big deal out something everyone is aware of.
Logically if there are people out there harassing* these women then these people do, in fact, disagree. How does this fact escape you? If everyone thought this behaviour was wrong, nobody would be doing it, would they?

Discussing issues like this is how social norms are defined and ultimately enforced: by collective disapproval. The only ones who should have strong negative reactions to this issue being raised are those who don't think there is anything wrong with this kind of harassment, either because they (mistakenly) don't think it is harassment, or don't care because they are self-centred misogynist d-bags. Is that you?

*CHL we're not in court, there are shades of meaning to the word "harassment" and the term "sexual harassment". The English language is not subject to your pettifoggery and nitpickery. Nobody is going to be citing post #743 in this thread in court.

** People are also way too uptight about nudity, but in the context of our society being that prudish, the right of someone not to feel intimidated by large groups of drunk young men is much more important than some doomed crusade to make our morals more European.

*** Expecting people to act civil when they are drunk is not a ridiculous expectation, either - I was drunk as **** Tuesday night and I managed to walk down the Red Mile without accosting or fighting anyone. It's a cop-out.

And no one should expect them to behave in a PG-13 fashion after leaving the bar #becauseitsthecup
