Hartley should win it but they will give it to a top team stacked with talent

Unbelievable comeback, again.
As much as this team's future is looking bright, I don't expect they'll top this year's entertainment value for another 20 years. Just such a pleasure to be a part of.

This is a first pairing d on half the teams in the league. We're so lucky to have them as a #2.

This one from a Jets fan on HF, made me laugh.

I'm torn with wanting to face the Canucks in the first round. Beating them would be sweet and I might actually be able to go to a game or two but if there's one team I would hate the Flames losing to in the playoffs it's the Canucks. Especially living out here now.

"Why the Flames won: * Because, even though they get behind, they … yada yada yada. You know what they do." From the Calgary Herald a couple of days ago. Yep.

I was in a bar in Kamloops surrounded by Canuckleheads when the Flames won game 7 in OT in 2004, and it was one of the greatest sports-fan moments of my life.
I'd way rather beat them than any other team.
But, if the Flames make it to the dance I'm not picky.

So the Flames go 4-2 on the 6 game road trip to start the season, and 4-2-1 on this one. Add in that 5 gamer thru the Division in January where they went 4-1 and thats a pretty good record on road trips that were supposed to sink the season.
I think advanced stats types hate the Flames because their MO is to prove character, heart and all those other unquantifiable intangibles are rubbish and the numbers will win. The Flames are the complete opposite trying to prove that heart and desire matter.
I still think those human elements are a factor, otherwise a team like Pittsburgh would win the cup every year, or Washington would have won one. I don't think the Flames will win the cup, but you know when it does end for them, they will have given everything they had.

From reading other boards around the league the Flames are either i) gum on the bottom of your shoe ii) a bad rash iii) cockroaches that won't go away or iv) the Flames have a blessed bovine behind the bench.........but really it all amounts to grudging admiration.
And make no doubt every team (and fans of every team) around the league are taking notice of what is happening with the Flames.

It's too bad they couldn't pull out the win, but still a huge point!
Good luck the rest of the way!

well put, and said with great maturity.
see you in the playoffs, i'm glad this team's on my side

This team reminds me of the ones from the 80's where other teams feared playing the Flames. I like the fact we are getting that reputation back.

I was at that game. Probably 1986 or 1987 in Toronto. It was amazing! Colin Patterson won it in OT. Just insane.

I think the rest of the teams in our conference are hoping and praying they don't have to play the Flames, should they make the playoffs.

Loved the shot of the Treliving & Burke fist pump after Russell tied it. Those two are right in the heart of it.

I hate it, but what can I say?
The Flames are bending fate all year. I figured they'd die but to their credit it hasn't happened yet.
Again its a belief somehow, that you will win every game and even in the most unlikely of circumstances. Level of play aside the Flames have that belief from one end of the bench to the other. That tends to be an ingredient that grinds out the close game results. Unlike the Kings this year.
Kings have 11 road games left. A Kings team that haven't found themselves on the road this year. Hell even if the Kings somehow get in they won't have anything left.

Here's an interesting thing to consider. Last year the Kings ripped the beating heart out of the SJ franchise coming back to win 4 games and the series in something the Sharks have never recovered from. That was a loss that has changed everything about the Sharks who are now lost warriors.
This year, almost unbelievably, the team that took the mask off the Kings was the Calgary Flames winning multiple soul destroying tight games. That is when the Jets aren't kicking the Kings in the nuts. Any team that plays tough has had the Kings number this year. Its a concern.
Kings are done like dinner. They don't believe.

Does anyone else have the TSN Hockey app, its like its just keeps looping the game. It keeps texting me about the goals. I checked the app its literally thinks the game is only mid way through the first right now.

just got home from the game. so much fun, thought my heart would explode a couple of different times and bruised both hands banging on the glass after our 3rd and 4th goal. so glad to be a part of it...well a witness to it, not sure I was much assistance.
selfish question: I made a sign that said "thank you for watching city tv" featuring a picture of the city wok guy from south park. ended up getting filmed with it outside during the pre-game, as well as in my seat at the beginning of the second...did anyone notice if it made it to air, or did an editor somewhere figure out my joke and cut me from the program?
