Bennett is kind of a dirty player. Dirtiest player we have had in our system in quite a while

Yes, some of us do believe that.

Of course, like as with all placebos, a culture change in hockey would also result in the rapid disappearance of this belief among the players.

Someone said Bennett is 6' 1". Is that right? I thought he was 5 11" or something. Changes my view on his durability a lot of he is over 6'.

I usually go down an inch or two when it comes to the height of the players.

I knew he was 6'0" at the combine (IIRC). Wouldn't surprise me if he grew an inch or so. He has been listed at 6'1" for a while now - whether that is accurate or not, who knows for sure?

Would you say hilarious, or:

The Flames have him at 6'1, so the numbers might be fudged. At most it's fudged half an inch though. Even in the mid-season draft rankings last season his height was listed at just over six feet.
http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=699869

That height is well over a year old now so wouldn't be a surprise if he gained half-three quarters of an inch. Would feel comfortable saying 6'1 to be honest.

Looks about 2 inches taller than 5'11" Crosby to me. IMO he's deceptively big, and looked bigger than most during the game I watch on Saturday.

Crosby is only 5'11? Huh...always figured he was around 6'2 or something, as he looks bigger on tv.

I'm starting to get worried Sam Bennett will grow too tall and lose all his skills

I would hope if Hartley told Monahan to break someone's leg and take them out of the game Monnie would say no.
None of it would happen now, of course.
But if it did, Hartley would never ask Monahan. He would ask Wolf(or similar).
Feel free to speculate on his his response. I would have no idea, except that if it was presented as doing you part and meaning the difference between losing and winning the Cup, he sure might.

I recall Burke pre-draft commenting that he was a bit of a d-bag. Burke said it approvingly.

Hey as long as it's not pointless, selfish penalties he's taking I don't mind, hell remember Iggy? He was quite chippy especially early on in his career, coincidence?

Wasn't the major reason the Oilers took Draisaitl because he was "Bigger" than Sam?

From the one (out-dated) source I just checked (hockeydb), they have Sam at 6'0" (181 lbs) and Leon at 6'1" (204). And of course Leon is 8 months older that Sam. Let's assume Sam does end up playing at 6'1" and 200 lbs.

Is it possible that we are all laughing hysterically (not just a sensible chuckle) at the Oilers in five years for taking a "Big" guy over league MVP Sam Bennett, because of maybe a fraction of an inch and maybe 10 lbs?

Oh, I think it is!!! Thank you Oilers!

I am jealous of your ability to joke about that debate without being mod edited. I seem to lack that ability.

Can't we do it right now?
