Time to move him and get something back, we should not be letting UFA's walk away for free two years in a row, that is just bad asset management. Yes we have a chance to make the playoffs but the way Glencross is playing this year he is not going to be the difference in whether we make it or don't. There teams out there that are willing to pay for his services and we should be taking advantage of that. (Depending on whether he waives of course)

Glencross has been moved down to the third line since returning from injury with Bouma taking his place in the top 6 and thriving. Glencross is also shockingly 11th on the team in goals and 7th in points.

The season likely has not gone the way he hoped here and if his role continues to diminish I can see him being open to a move as long as the team is a top contender

Please

Your schtick has often been similar type rebuttals that come off as not only impolite, but arrogant. Calling a point non-sensical and bottom of the barrel does NOT make your stance any more right. It really just makes you seem like an ass, and you have been criticized vehemently on this site for such replies.

Heavy Jack's reply was fine. 100% fine, so he gets an actual discussion.

Don't get me wrong Jack, I wouldn't think that the team would necessarily just fold and go belly up. I do believe that they are a stronger team than that. I do, however, have a hard time believing that they wouldn't be affected at all, especially if the return was all for futures-only.

Some trades spark teams and provide them a lift. However, some trades do somewhat deflate teams. For instance, I remember listening to what Iginla thought about the trade that brought in Conroy from St. Louis, and how he was angry and a little dejected at the same time initially. The Toronto team (which albeit have been a demoralized team with poor leadership) are completely dejected after their trade. Even Buffalo's players are rumored to be down after that trade.

If I was a player, and Curtis Glencross was both a friend and a team mate, I would be sad to see him go regardless of the circumstances, but I would understand this is a business and a team needs to make these decisions. However, as a hockey player, I would probably feel much more negative if that trade didn't bring in immediate help to make help make that push. Likewise, if the return was heralded as really good, it would be easier to feel better about the trade knowing that your team was probably going to be a bit better now.

I don't think it is such an outlandish idea to think that players do have opinions and feelings.

Also, I never stated that the Flames SHOULD keep Glencross, just that he does provide definite value to the organization and that value should be met in any trade. What that value is, I am not qualified to valuate personally - but there is value there.

For Martin erat, a middle 6 winger with less than 10 goals on the season.

Wouldn't it be nice....

Glencross was really effective when he played with edge. There was a 2 week stretch there where he looked really pissed off and it really improved his game imo. Its unfortunate that he doesn't bring that kind of play more often. Although he's coming off of an injury (again) I would expect more from him still. I've always liked Glencross but I believe he'll want more money and term to go along with it. Time for him to go.

With the youthful speed on the Flames now, Glencross is best suited on the 3rd line.
The sooner he realizes that is where he is the better for the team and him because if a playoff contender does pick him up he won't be promoted to their 2nd line.
With that said, last night at the game he probably had his best game for quite some time.

To me, how well Glencross is playing has no impact on whether I'd like to see him moved at the deadline. In fact, the better he's playing the more we'll get for him.

Agree with the last point, on the former, you never know where he might slot on a different team (look at Perron).

Which GM out there might be as desperate to save his job as Mcphee was last season? Hopefully Treliving can find one and take advantage.

Chiarelli?

The pressure is mounting on the Boston Bruins, and it's hardly exclusive to the players.

The front office could reportedly see a complete overhaul should the team fail to hang on to their postseason position.

Per Darren Dreger on NBC's first intermission broadcast:
If the Bruins don't qualify for the postseason, then absolutely you could see full front office change in the offseason. We're talking about the dismissal of Peter Chiarelli or the head coach, Claude Julien. Both these guys know the amount of pressure that they're feeling right now. They know it because they're living it.
Dreger adds that the Bruins are desperately working the phones in an effort to hold off the hard-charging Philadelphia Flyers, who now sit seven points back, and more importantly, the Florida Panthers, who are three points behind.

Glencross is the type of person that would rather be on the 1st Line of a Losing team, then be on the 3rd of 4th line of a winning team.

Get rid of the guy. He is terrible out there.
