Agreed, just didn't want to be a homer.

I could have sworn I heard a rumor saying Andre Johnson was going to the Colts.

Hearing AJ to Ravens.
Ravens currently have no starting RB, TE, and 1 starting WR!

Johnson to Seahawks would be ideal. A year or two left in the tank, a big body that's more within reliable; though, although not the same calibre, they have a lot of those type of guys. Seattle could use a pure speed guy though to stretch the defense every so often.
Looks like Seattle has signed Cary Williams. Defer to Eagles fans but looks like an ok signing as far as reliability.

Julius Thomas to the Jags. Wondering when the Jags were going to do something. They were sitting with$60M+ in cap space.

This pretty much sums up my thoughts on Williams:

I don’t like phony tough guys. And Williams is certainly that. He would tackle players on an inconsistent basis. But he was All-Pro when it came to shoving WRs after the catch. I can’t stand players who talk about being physical and tough and then do that kind of crap. Be physical from snap to whistle. Shoving guys afterward just draws penalties. That doesn’t intimidate anyone.
|
He's kind of the NFL equivalent of Alex Burrows. I didn't like Williams when he was a Raven and he didn't impress me as an Eagle. He plays way too soft off the WR and has trouble getting his head around for the ball. He also tends to take dumb unsportsmanlike penalties for the aforementioned stuff after the whistle. That said, with Thomas and Sherman covering his ass, he'll probably do fine in that defense.

Sounds like a perfect fit for Seattle..
In other news,
49ers FB Bruce Miller was arrested on Battery assault charges against his girlfriend, so the Niners keep their legal issues alive and well. What a terrible time for the 49ers. Hopefully he is released (if proven guilty) just like Ray McDonald was. No excuse for that kind of garbage.

I was trying to think who I still really like, and I'm quickly running out of players.
And there is a rumour Bowman may be released - his knee just hasn't recovered as hoped. Although the cap hit may prevent that.
I guess we'll find out of Baalke is any good, but I'm resigned to more years of futility.

Colts appear to be the frontrunners for Frank Gore and Andre Johnson.

Colts have agreed to terms with Gore. 3 years, $12 M (the same offer he got from the Eagles). Pleased to have him. We needed a solid RB after the disaster that was Trent Richardson. Gore, Herron and Tipton are the RB's now. I think they will bring back Ballard as well.

As mentioned, Gore has the 3 year 12M agreement with Indy, and Schefter just reported that Gore and Andre Johnson are flying on the Colts plane to Indianapolis right now. Getting both of these guys would be great. Johnson is a great replacement for Reggie Wayne. The main thing now is to get a couple players on defense. They are in on Nick Fairley among others. They need to get a safety as well.

Colts sign former Eagle Trent Cole as well. Hopefully he can help the pass rush. I like the signing. Rubecube, thoughts on him?
Also:
- Former Patriot Shane Vereen has signed with the Giants.

Gore is a fantastic addition to the Colts! Get Andre Johnson in there and things are good.

Seattle getting Jimmy Graham and a 4th rounder from the Saints for a 1st round plus Max Unger. Wow.

Jimmy Graham is the @Seahawks new tight end. The Saints own Max Unger and pick No. 31.

And Patrick Willis says his feet just won't let him be the player he once was. The turf toe just slowed him down too much.

Saints cap hell finally caught up to them. At this point might as well try and unload Brees and just blow it up.

Saints were in salary cap hell. They put themselves in a win now situation and it didn't work. Seems like one of the big names had to go no matter what.
